Les trois MCs : Pannekoek, Le Cobay et Garo, fondent le projet Mr. Spartako en 2006. Rapidement se joignent à eux DJ Ber et Panzer Kunst qui assureront les productions musicales. En juillet 2006, ils enregistrent une démo 6 titres. C’est maintenant à 8 qu’ils poursuivent leur route, en accueillant la voix de crooner de double M et en intégrant des instruments en public (guitare et clarinette-basse).
Au cours de l’année 2006/2007 ils enchaînent les prestations live à Bruxelles et ailleurs: Café Central,Péniche Fulmar,Magasin 4,DNA,Bodega,Coiffure Lilliane,Nuit Blanche 2006,Dour Festival 2007...
Mr. Spartako tient à forger son identité musicale en se basant sur les multiples influences de ses membres. En effet, le hip-hop qu’il tente de développer se teinte de couleurs rock, jazz, electro, tout en évitant les clichés. Le but étant de produire un son cohérent, identifiable et avant tout personnel. Mr. Spartako affirme cette identité par des prestations live à l’énergie et à la spontanéité communicatives.
Mr Spartako was created in 2006 by three MC's: Pannekoek, Le Cobay,
and Garo, soon to be joined by beatmakers DJ Ber and Panzer Kunst.
The quintet recorded a 6-track demo in July '06. They are now pursuing
their way as an eight-piece band, with the addition of double M's
crooner-style vocals and of two live musicians (guitar and bass
clarinet).
Since 2006 the band has frequently played live, in Brussels (Café
Central, Péniche Fulmar, Magasin 4, DNA, La Bodega, Coiffure Liliane,
Nuit Blanche 2006...) and elsewhere in Belgium (Dour Festival '07...)
Mr Spartako find their musical identity within their multiple
influences. More than Hip Hop, their music blends rock, jazz, and
electro without ever falling into clichés. Searching for a coherent,
recognizable and above personal sound, Mr Spartako assert their
personality through energetic, infectious live performances.
