WHAT: More than just a big screen viewing of Halloween, Gordon K. Smith has compiled a special collection of trailers and commercials as well as trailers from other Stuart Gordon classics. Smith will discuss the film and share pieces of his collection that can’t be found anywhere else. Trailers will include The Brain That Wouldn't Die, The Thing With Two Heads, The Four Skulls Of Jonathan Drake and more.
WHEN: Thursday, September 6th, 2007 at 7:30 PM, doors at 7 PM.
WHERE: Studio Movie Grill in Addison, TX.
PRICE/RATING: Tickets are $10 for regular admission or $15 with the newly re-released DVD and will be available at the box office or in advance at www.myspace.com/mrweirdsgrindhouse. This film is Rated R. Seating is limited. There will also be giveaways including DVDs, CDs, t-shirts, screening passes, concert tickets and more.
WHY: Because there’s nothing else like this in the D/FW area for film buffs and adventurous moviegoers. Every showing will be a special presentation of a cult classic film that will include a unique compilation of rare old trailers, clips and commercials from that particular era as well as a discussion about the cinematic significance of that particular film. Also, Studio Movie Grill is a great place to eat, drink and enjoy a classic show with an appreciative audience.

Gordon K. Smith:
Gordon K. Smith ( a.k.a. "Mr. Weird", the producer/host of DCTV's "Weird Theatre"), is an award-winning Dallas-based writer, filmmaker, film historian and actor. Born in Houston and raised in Lubbock, he is a graduate of Texas Tech University and was one of the very first employees of Blockbuster Video (for whom he wrote thousands of synopses that appeared on VHS jacket covers). Smith has appeared in bit parts in over 35 movies and TV episodes (including The Alamo and "Walker Texas Ranger"). In 1989 his research work led to the revival of the almost-lost cult classic Carnival of Souls. Recently, he was the researcher for the AMC Channel series "Movies 101", produced special video tributes for the AFI-Dallas Film Festival, and co-hosted, with WFAA's Gary Cogill, "It Came From Dallas", an annual salute to pioneer Dallas filmmakers.

Dallas Movie Guide is a spin-off of Dallas Music Guide (www.DallasMusicGuide.com), a successful online music site that was also launched in nine other markets.
