Almost Heaven... Nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, Mountain State Brewing Company poured its first beer in September 2005 at its Thomas, West Virginia location. MSBC is now distributing throughout its home state, providing handcrafted ales to Elkins, Morgantown, Snowshoe, Charleston and Weston. The beers are brewed on the premises from malted barley, wheat, and fresh hops using original recipes in seven-barrel batches. A traditionally designed and hand-built pub adjoins the brewery in Thomas and serves drafts by the pint over a stone and copper bar. Come saddle up to our sawhorses for an evening of fine beer and local merriment, or enjoy a pint at a restaurant in a West Virginia town near you! In September 2008 we added a Brewpub and Restaurant in Deep Creek Lake, MD. Here you can enjoy one of our world class ales, craft artisan flatbreads baked in a wood-fired oven, our signature kegged Sangria or our newest addition - MSBC Root Beer.
