Interests

Life is a soundtrack and I am the melody. My friends are harmonies and solos which play with me beautifully. My experiences are the dynamics and accents which give the music style. The beat goes on for now ...
  • Music

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are the greatest rock band in the world. I am easily hypnotized by Janet Jackson. Everyone likes at least one Harry Connick Jr song. Jay Z flows like water grashopper. I wish Toni Braxton sang me to sleep every night. I miss Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, New Edition, Hall and Oates and Morris Day. Can you really get mad if Prince steals your girlfriend? Lenny Kravitz never gets old. Jimi Hendrix was a god. Lauryn Hill is the stars and Mary J Blige is the Moon. I should buy a Maroon 5 CD. I want to join the G Unit. Snoop and Ludicras would be the first names on my party list. I would love to play trombone with the Bosstones (Mighty, Mighty). If Primus is wrong, I don't want to be right.
  • Movies

As a male, I am genetically programmed to love gratuitous violence, unbelievable technology, crude humor and boobs of all shapes and sizes.
  • Television

Sportscenter is the idol I worship at on a daily basis. Monk, Psyche and Scrubs always make me laugh out loud. I am not ashamed to admit I still like cartoons. However, I am ashamed to admit which ones.
  • Books

I have been reading for as long as I can remember. It began with Sweet Pickles, Encyclopedia Brown and comic books. Now I read regularly and have developed a love for the following: Almost anything by Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams, Jim Butcher's Dresdon Files, Robert Jordan's Wheel of time series, Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, John Sanford's Prey series, Michael Connelly's Heironymous Bosch books, James Patterson's Alex Cross novels, Stephen Kings Gunslinger series. I also have enjoyed the works of authors: Timothy Zahn, R.A. Salvatore, J.R.R. Tolkein, Harry Harrison and Lawrence Sanders. Honestly, these are just the highlights of an extremely long list. So many books, so little time.

    My late grandfather. Nuff said.

About me:

I am a non-traditional student at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn., majoring in Print and Web journalism. My ultimate goal (besides ruling the world)is to become a professional sports journalist. The good news is I have a lot of experience working both for The All State (The weekly paper at APSU) and The Leaf Chronicle (the local daily paper). I enjoy all the work I am doing now and are lucky to be working with some great and talented people. I am confident in my ability to write, copy edit, design, record, shoot, post, do everything a competent modern mobile journalist is expected to do. The bad news is even my overly healthy ego realizes I am just a rookie in the game. I just have to be patient. First graduation, then domination.

Who I'd like to meet:

Morgan Freeman, Chuck D of Public Enemy, Beyonce's mother, Janet Jackson, Michael Wilbon, Venus and Serena Williams, Condoleeza Rice, Mary J. Blige, Halle Berry, Lisa Leslie, Hugh Heffner at home, Ray Lewis, Tim Duncan, Charles Barkley, The whole Marsalis family, Stephen King in a crowded room in daylight; Iman after something unfortunate happens to David Bowie.
