Carissa Halston co-founded Aforementioned Productions (AP) in 2005. Their first production was an evening of theatre entitled, Cleavage, which she wrote and directed. In 2006, Cleavage was published and throughout the year, AP hosted literary readings and events in the Boston area.
In 2007, Carissa published her debut novel, A Girl Named Charlie Lester which was lauded as “emotionally generous” and “a lovely piece of female confessional” by Kirkus Reviews. In 2008, the novel was honorably mentioned at the New York Book Festival. AP has published two additional books penned by Carissa, both in the sphere of sequential art: Sequentially Yours (a short graphic novel) and Itty Bitty Hipster (a handmade mini-comic).
In September, 2009, Carissa will be touring for her literary performance piece, Portraiture. She’ll be performing in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, St Louis (ish), and Toronto. Studio recordings of some of her pieces will be available--for your aural pleasure--on her myspace page.
