"I don't know much about football, but I sure know a tight end when I see one." Maxine Crabby Road
Another fantasy football season is over. My third year playin' and my second as league champion (2005, 2007). Don't ask me bout teams, players, or stats cause I can't answer. But trust that I know just enough to be dangerous. I'm hooked on this ish!
As far as the real deal, and my allegiances go...
And still thankful for Orrin, friend and cross country teammate from high school days, lettin' me tag along on his first Nascar race (PHX Nov. 2006)... I think I am now officially a fan.
Music
If I Didn't Know Any Better and the rest of the album Lonely Runs Both Ways Alison Krauss & Union Station ...this speaks to my soul.
..
I was raised on bluegrass/folk and classic rock. These days I still listen to bits and pieces of that when I need a taste of home, but I'm also big on hip hop (cause I love to dance). The short story is that I could be listenin' to somethin' different on any given day.
Last handful of CDs I bought: 1. Every Waking Moment, Citizen Cope 2. Rodrigo y Gabriela, Rodrigo y Gabriela 3. Whitey Ford sings the Blues, Everlast 4. Introducing, Joss Stone 5. Back to Bedlam, James Blunt
Movies
Pride & Prejudice Memoirs of a Geisha ...these are both salt and salve for my emotions.
Last handful of movies I saw: 1. Iron Man 2. Trade 3. The Bucket List 4. Sweeney Todd 5. The Bourne Idenity, The Bourne Supremacy, & The Bourne Ultimatum
Television
If I had time, my regular shows would include CSI (all of them), Criminal Minds, and Law & Order (all of them). Can you say crime drama? I also like Friday Night Lights. Shows that I loved and miss now that are no longer on air include Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and West Wing.
I don't watch much that's not on the basic channels, but I think that's more than enough. Besides, I need to reserve a little time to read and do jigsaw puzzles (yes, I know, I'm a nerd).
Books
The Alchemist Paulo Coelho Dreams from My Father Barack Obama
One of my favorite things is a book that rests on my papasan chair, patiently waiting for the moment when I have time to sit down in the sunlit window and read.
Last handful of books I read: 1. Persuasion, Jane Austen 2. Burnt Toast and Other Philosophies of Life, Teri Hatcher 3. The Chronicles of Narnia, C. S. Lewis 4. Rhinoceros Success, Scott Alexander 5. The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Mitch Albom
Heroes
First and foremost: MOM! She inspires me with her character and passion and perseverance, and I aspire to touch loved ones and strangers alike in the same manner.
I find heroism in average people who live fully within each moment. In those who have the ambition to dream great dreams and the drive to make their dreams reality. And in those who take the seeds they are given each day and plant a beautiful garden, which they in turn share with others.

Because the Havik side of life is lookin' Rockstar stunna shade bright.
On a more personal note...
MODEST. RELIABLE. INTELLIGENT. ANALYTICAL. PERFECTIONIST. VIRGO. Can I still claim modesty if that is the first thing on the list?
I am in krisis. I am evolving. I am under construction. I am traveling alone. I am in a process of discovering what it means to fit within a moment. One day, I hope to discover a moment that is both amazing and will last my lifetime.
re: relationships... When people say "it's complicated", they really mean "it's unsatisfying".

Who I'd like to meet: Make that Who I can't wait to see...
My pursuit of personal passions has made travel impractical, so I'm sitting pretty most weekends. I miss home. Personal musings aside, I will soon know joy in a visit from Maryzona and I am lookin' forward to an escape *fingers crossed* to the company of chosen family...of chosen home.
