Dallas born and Austin residing singer and songwriter Joanna Ramirez has been performing professionally since 1993. She released a blend of soulful rhythm and blues in a debut CD entitled "Satisfy Me" produced by Mark Hallman (Ani DiFranco, Sister 7, Davíd Garza) in June 2001. Joanna’s vocal style possesses a depth and range enabling her to deliver songs from a variety of genres, with an undeniably commanding stage presence.
Performing in Austin since 1999, Joanna is currently writing songs and hopes to start recording her next cd in 2008. You can catch her live at apppearances with Larry Lange and The Lonely Knights, and also performs in acoustic settings.
REVIEWS FOR "SATISFY ME":
"A super band and Ramirez's deceptively cool vocal approach makes "Satisfy Me" (self-release) a bullseye."

“If Angela Strehli had a younger sister, she'd sound like Ramirez, whose bluesy, sensual style is a comfortable mix of original ("Out of Tears," "Satisfy Me") and traditional ("Same Old Blues," "All Around the World").”

“…You want to know if she can burn a barn! All you need is the title track for an answer. It wouldn't take you long to figure out that Ramirez is a very talented lady and that this is a great CD… An excellent introduction and debut for a good up and coming performer. Check her out!”

Hey-- I'm having a songwriters circle at our house on July 19th. Can you come? My friends Hayley and Cole are coming, and Steven Hansen might join us. Invite other folks you think might be interested as well. I'll let you know the time as the date approaches...
Hi Joanna, What beautiful songs & an equally beautiful voice!! Thanks for adding us. I'm hoping to see Miss Suzanne perform soon -- I used to see her sit in with Alvin Crow at the Broken Spoke, but I moved to Houston last year. We'll have some Austin gigs soon (and a single/video release very shortly . . .). Would love to meet you.
Thank-you so much for your help the other night at Friends w/L.E.D....really made a difference! If I'd been more on the ball I'd have invited you up to sing a couple with us...we'll definitely have to stay in touch. Take care...see you when we get back!
