I am really interested 18th Century France - the culture and history, would like to learn French and Italian, playing trivia, trying to master golf (hard when my handicap is my swing lol), music trivia, going to the beach, PS2 singstar, playing Euchre, visiting historical places, spending time with my friends.

I thought that Mulholland Drive was a really weird movie, did anyone actually get what it was about?

Hi :) My name is Mandy and I currently live an hour from Sydney in Australia. I am in my 30s which some people say is old but think it is the time when people start to get their stuff together :)
Why am I in myspace? You can blame Nick for that :) Anyway I am here and it's all new and exciting and I've made quite a few new friends already.
At the moment I am completing my third degree which is a Masters of Teaching (Secondary). Have completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in History/Philosophy/Politics and English, Texts and Writing. As well as an Honours degree in Humanities.
You're probably asking why am I at university when I'm 39? Trust me I ask myself the same thing every day especially after I have stayed up all night working on an essay that due. After a long term relationship of mine broke up I decided life was too short and that I should just go for broke and try to do the things I always wanted to do. The worse that could happen was that I would be in exactly the same situation when I started,which wasn't that bad. However with hard work, dedication and a few tears, I'm 10 weeks away from completing my final degree, and on my way to a better life. Life really will begin at 40 for me :) and aren't they saying 40 is the new 30 anyway LOL
The things I look forward to doing is travelling, especially to Europe at first. I am really fascinated by 18th century France, not only for it's rich history but it's architecture which was largely innovative especially within the gardens of the Palace of Versailles.
I want to sail in a gondola through Venice during the Carnivale.
I want to visit Provence and Tuscany.
I also plan to do a diploma in Modern European languages in French and Italian so I can speak or attempt to speak the languages when I visit.
At the moment I don't get a lot of time to do anything terribly exciting. I do keep up with a few of my best friends with dinners and girls nights out.
I like going to the beach even in winter just to listen to the waves and feel the sea air on my face.
I love having friends over and playing PS2 singstar after a few drinks (my poor neighbours).
I like to visit historical places and go for drives and visit new towns.
I want to learn to play golf to a point where they don't charge me two lots of green fees for playing too long...
I want to learn to iceskate.
I want to learn to play the guitar properly

Looking back on the months gone by, As a new year starts and an old one ends, We contemplate what brought us joy, And we think of our loved ones and our friends. Gabz and I are doing great thank you. Still in NZ but not for much longer. The house goes up for auction 2nd December. It's tight but hoping to be in the states by Xmas. Flights will be the issue LOL.
