I have an appreciation for geeky innovators in sound recording...musicians, producers, composers, as well as original turntable DJs who took apart their equipment, purposely destroyed amps and speakers, and manipulated things DIY to invent cool sound effects which I can utilize today with a computer software mixing program.
I CURRENTLY LOVE LISTENING TO THESE STYLES: Electro House Progressive House & Trance Tech House Hip Hop plus Pop, Ambient....anything electronic
These are my homemade tracks, in addition to existing and new Mindblasterz tracks. Mindblasterz consists of my boyfriend Eriq plus myself. Occasionally there will be tracks posted here with other collaborators I work with, like Abstractions.
I'm interested in further developing my music production skills, so I can eventually quit my three jobs. If someone wants to take me on as a protege be my guest, but you'd better live within an hour's drive of me :P
I have learned a lot from Eriq and from Tony Dubshot via email, but I have essentially taught myself, and there are some technical elements involved with producing and composing music that I don't think I'll ever be able to understand. Nonetheless this is an extremely important hobby that I take very seriously.
We [Mindblasterz] primarily use Propellerhead Reason software, Ableton Live 7.0 and an M-Audio keyboard when recording. Also we use plug ins sometimes, such as Reaktor, Absynth, Stylus RMX Chaos Designer, Vanguard, and Cameleon5000 (my favorite plug-in).
Last time I was in the bay area i tried to make it to Russian River but couldn't find the time. I hear though, thats where you go for the wineries that get you loaded during your tasting (sounds like my kind of tasting). I understand that its also a great place to go hiking or kayaking. When or if I make it out to the bay area again I will def go there. If you make it before I do I want some pointers!! :-)
:-) I actually had a pretty low key day. Worked as usual of course, and put in a couple hours of overtime as well. Then went home to the kitty and spent the evening watching the teley. Pretty exciting, no?
I actually had rather a full day last Friday (GLP, Memphis Taproom and TJ's), and can only do that so often.
In any event, thanks for remembering my birthday. I'm impressed that you remebered. Thanks Rebecca!
I'm thinking Quizzo for Sunday night since I have Monday off. Michael might be going to Jam on the River on Saturday but I'll be around if you're in the city.
Luke Wilson rocks! Maybe you'll be in there the same day he's getting his hair done. How cool would that be!?! Just remember to have a camera ready at all times when you hear Hollywood's in the area. I learned my lesson about 10 years ago when I heard they were filming a Clooney movie in Cleveland. I went down where they were filming during lunch and heard through some people that he was in a building down the street (sure enough the building's windows were taped up with paper so you couldn't see in). Anyway, after being patient (and waiting with a few other people), he comes out with some people and was cool enough to sign some autographs and shake my hand. Cool guy! but I wish I had a camera with me, heh.
haha, remember i went to rowan, so monster beverage is a minute from there...it was my regular stop on the way to class! i couldn't bear to go to school without taking the edge off!
hey! i'm living in woodbury now, but out of the towns you listed i'm closest to mantua and mullica hill, unless i'm down wildwood, which would make me close to cape may...sure i'd like to have lunch sometime. just let me know when you'll be around. oh, i lost your new #, can you send it to me? happy saturday!
What's up, everything is going well down here. Haven't found any Troeg's yet, but I know where I can, I just haven't went on the 1.5 hour drive yet. How's that for lazy. Although a regular availability of Goose Island and Bell's is a nice substitute. I was in PA last week, but on the other side of the state. I did pick up some Victory HopDevil, which I can't get in Kentucky. It was very tasty. Some of the bars in my old town had a surprisingly good selection. One still had Delerium Noel on tap @ 2.50 a pint. A little old, but good none the less. Another we went to had DFH 60 minute IPA, I always like that one. I have to re-stock the beer fridge as it has been getting a little low. I have been surviving on Seirra Nevada ESB and Pale Ale. Which come to think of it isn't so bad.
Just had a few too many sad events over the last few weeks, but thanks for checking in on me honey! Hope you are doing well. Hope to see you at an event soon!
