About me: Life's full of many wonderful things, even if lessons sometimes come in hard ways. I'm a thirty-something surfer with a white collar gig during the working hours. I stay pretty active and love surfing and the ocean, music, running, hiking, and most of all,my dog, Sunshine (alias Sundog). I presently reside in Newark, Delaware, but, like everything else, that is subject to change.
I love surfing and try to get into the water whenever I can, no matter what time of year it is. Winter waves are better than summer waves around here anyway. I gravitate towards a few breaks in Delaware and Maryland, though enjoy trips to other spots in the vacinity from time to time. I often drop whatever I'm doing to get out in the water, where I feel most connected. Those who surf will know what I mean.
I love music, all kinds...I mean, I'm all over the map. I like finding new bands, though I don't get to concerts nearly as much as when I lived in Chicago. After seing them live a few times over the past month, I can say that my favorite band of all time is Beachwood Sparks. They are phenomenal.
I fumble around on the guitar and enjoy it, though I have no aspirations there.
I also like running and have done a few marathons. I'll probably start training for another one sometime soon.
I hadn't kept in touch with many of my friends from days passed very well, but recent events have reminded me just how important friends are, and how amazing the friends I have are. I love them all.
Who I'd like to meet: Neil Young, the Dali Llama, Gerry Lopez, The Malloy Brothers, Del Cannon; my Dad's Dad (he passed away before I was born), Stephen King, and everybody who is interested in just getting along with everbody else.
I want to hear all about it! Did you get in some sun and surf? I am sure you did. I just couldn't manage it out that way. Definitely keep me posted if you journey out this way. It is bound to actually happen one of these days!
we didn't get many good photos but earlier in the day there was real nice decent sized clean sets from gustav..maybe Ike this week...i saw hanna heading to Maine ENJOY!!!
i think i'm supposed to be landing at LAX around 1:20 PM Friday or something like that-got a rental car and staying at some rich folk's home in Bel Air (which is mighty fresh).
i'll still haveto see when the flight home is cos the tix are already booked and stuff--but i think there;s a rad thing on Friday that Brent said something about, i'll double check on these and get back to ya.
i'm not sure if i'm leaving on that monday or tuesday-bummer cos i'd love to catch Bolero, and from what i've heard around the grapevine is that Josh is playing gtr w/ The Tyde now too.//but that might have been a limited stint...dude, it's gonna be soo freaking rad. can't wait. hope you're up for having lots of beers and befriending as many Calif.grrls as possible...that's my plan anyhow-while catching the best bands, record shopping, skateboarding and hitting a surfspot or two.
actually, i haven't booked a ticket yet-in fact i'm leaning more towards the Sunset Junction shows cos i know more people in L.A. and am more familiar w/ that town..so Seattle might be out of the realm of reality for me too..
glad you dig the discs! sorry it took so long to put them in that direction. yeah definitely Seattle-i'm buying my ticket this weekend/early next week-we ought to meet up for some beers and stuff for sure.
