SHELLY SHORT is a native and current resident of Portland, Oregon, songwriter and singer Shelley Short grew up among characters and artists in a wood-heated home stocked with books, records, and well-cooked meals. As Short recounts: “It was like growing up in a time machine; in some ways we lived like it was 1896, chopping wood, growing our own food, wearing eclectic clothes in a Victorian home and singing our own songs. Other times it seemed like we were living in 1955, driving around Cadillacs and Hudsons and listening to Jonny Ray, Lester Young and The Flamingos. And yet it all felt like growing up in a movie made in 1963, full of these big personalities. As a kid I grew up so accustomed to falling asleep to the sound of talk and laughter that when I moved out, the silence got to me.” After three lovely years in Chicago, Short has hit the road of late, opening for likes of M. Ward and Loudon Wainright III (with Nate Query of The Decemberists on upright bass), as well as friends Whispertown 2000, Tom Brosseau, Alexis Gideon and Laura Gibson. About me: I Book Bands..I was, I Am and Will always be a Filmmaker, I Am a Mother..and I Am an Open Book.. most of the time.. you dont have to look in my bag, my medicine cabinet, my desk, well, sometimes that says alot! I used to like pina colada's when i was 10...I love jukeboxes. I've been known to sit for hours watching films, alone..reading books cover to cover in one sitting....listening and singing to music..loudly alone.. I like video games which all you have to do is shoot (more functions im lost) like space invaders and tetris. If its your birthday I can make your present in under 20 minutes..watch out! the glue may still be wet...and I may have to improvise with the letters..if I like you I will cook for you, that is if you enjoy food..and if I love you micasa sucasa...autumn is my favorite season..unless its summer...my mother says im easily impressed...but i just find desire in simple pleasures..silly jokes, spontaneous actions, truth, love, watching you perform, happy when you call me out of the blue, when you cook something yummy just for me, when you create everything inside your head and then in moments of inspiration you put it down on paper in sound in moving picture, etc..When you can giggle with me over silly stuff and be impressed with these things at my side.

BJOERN KLEINHENZ lives on a desert island. He sits in a very small room recording very small songs. He stomps his big foot in the chalky Faro ground and listens carefully. He claims nowadays to be a mountain. Bjoern is also a young man with big thoughts with just as beautiful words, he could have been born somewhere across the ocean in the middle of a desert, but i think any where this gentleman lands and hangs his hat he will make his own island and find a way to create great things. KID IKARUS_with punkrock in his heart, love of experiments in the head and a precocious diletantism in the fingertips Kid Ikarus makes... living room beats with landscape bleeps on sound storage media ending in an entertaining lo-fi mess with charasmatic live shows. In one moment songstructures hailing from a posthard core background meet one-man-show-poppycock, and the next instrumental jewels meet electronic puppet theater. It's all about the mixture of handicrafts, driving beats, ticklish synth melodies and a dash of coincidence. Needless to say Mister Ikarus is a storyteller with a monster truck humor and dancestep to boot.

Heute 07.Oktober im Transitum 20:00 Uhr / Konzert The « Projet Picasol » (Lyon, France) is a jazzy piano-drums duo that attempts to experience a new way of musical traveling. Its objective is to organize international trips and to create cultural exchanges with foreign people. This should be achieved in an open minded fashion and even with non musicians. Improvisation takes an important part in this project, regarding music as much as the way the trip unfolds. The present trip started on september 1st and brought us to Brussels, Amsterdam, Hambourg, Ahrus, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Rostock and now Berlin !
ciao ! Wilco will play Milano with Grizzly bear...I'm not pretty much into the last album but One Wing is worth a thousand listens ! Of course I'd be glad to go back there and play a bunch of serenades....I'm recording a new ep and we could manage to present it in Berlin in early 2010...keep in touch !
