About me: Actor and Director with indy Horror film company Dark Night Films. Established the company in 2000 under the name Matt Spease Productions, made the transfer to Dark Night Films in 2003. New action branch was started in 2005 with the debut film StoryLine.
Born on September 5th, 1973 in Sterling, Illinois. Grew up watching the old Universal Horror films (such as Bela Lugosi as Dracula, Boris Karloff as Frankenstein, Lon Chaney, Jr. as The Wolf Man, and The Creature From The Black Lagoon), eventually got drawn into England's Hammer Horror films (most of them starring Christopher Lee), and finally saw the film that made me want to direct... John Carpenter's Halloween.
Eventually took that love with me to direct my first film with Dark Night Films called Evil On Queen Street in 2002. Followed that success with my dream project The Chameleon Killer the same year. The Chameleon Killer tells the story of a serial killer who kills victims based horror movie slashers, which means everytime the killer strikes in the film, it's based on a horror film icon. Originally titled Copycat, The Chameleon Killer became one of my most critically acclaimed films.
Decided I didn't want to be known for just horror films, so in 2005 I opened the action branch Lighthouse Pictures and directed what many claim is my best films to date. StoryLine details the character of Nick Wilson (the hero from Evil On Queen Street) through his early days and tells how Alexia Thompson (also from Evil On Queen Street) became a bounty hunter.
