Malcolm Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS...

Your taxes and government working for Roland Arnall:

The founder of Ameriquest, Roland Arnall, who has made billions from predatory lending, was nominated by President Bush as Ambassador to the Netherlands. While a few U.S. Senators delayed his confirmation until Ameriquest finalized a settlement with state attorneys general, now Arnall will profit again, selling the remainder of the company to Citigroup. The losers in the deal are the borrowers from whom Citigroup will even more ruthlessly squeeze payments on loans that were misleading and abusive from the start, and future borrowers whom Citigroup will target with the ex-Ameriquest "scalable platform."

I post an opinion once in a while, otherwise the postings are items I think reflect a real situation.

My overall feeling is that history is not something that is old, but it is something that started long ago and is continuing thru the present.

Sources of 'information' which I choose generally are ones I have read before and established a record of accuracy.

Seymour Hersch is perfect example. He forecast the debacle of Iraq to the T before we went in. He is example of a source I try to find and follow.

So many of the Revolutionary leaders spoke to the necessity of an informed public that so much of the corporate structure fights against, the examples of which I hope you will find on my site blog.

The purpose is to make our country into an example for a better world. The challenge is change a problem into an opportunity.

David Horowitz and his army of Campus Republicans are launching "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" October 22-26 on hundreds of campuses across the country. They are ominously calling this "the biggest conservative campus protest ever." Invoking ‘60’s themes like "free speech" and combating the "oppression of women in Islam" as a cover, they plan to harass Muslim Student Associations and Women’s Studies Departments, and silence anyone that questions the Bush regime’s official narrative, including even those concerned about global warming!

Given the Bush regime’s escalating threats toward Iran, the danger of a complicit campus environment cannot be underestimated. The College Republicans can claim to be the victim of the "academic left," but people like them run this country and dominate the world. They are the ones holding "catch an illegal immigrant day" at the same time as the Bush regime’s ICE raids are ripping apart immigrant families. This is not just a question of campus politics and a few loud mouth bigots. If we ignore them, they will NOT go away. They have their sights set on the last remaining bastions of critical thinking with the aim of transforming all of society. If they can create an atmosphere at these colleges where it is okay to be openly racist and reactionary, where progressive faculty are intimidated by ridiculous claims of "left-wing academic dictatorship," and radical dissenting ideas are ruled beyond the pale and off the table…then they have won, not only at the universities, but in their efforts to remake the social fabric of this country in a fascist way.

On the other hand, if we can politically confront these college Republicans and their "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week," expose their real agenda, raise awareness of the growing danger of U.S. fascism and the real fascist direction that the Bush regime has been taking this country in—the endless war, the torture, the Patriot Act, the unlimited domestic spying, and the whole police state infrastructure, the Christian Fundamentalism that is undermining women’s rights, gay peoples rights, science, and rational thought—and if we can bring forward a radical student movement that refuses to choose between Islamic Fundamentalism and the Bush Regime’s Christian Fascist war on the world…then we can turn Horowitz’s plan upside down.

This week will either strengthen their side or strengthen OUR side.

By bringing forward a determined and uncompromising student movement on campuses October 22-26th we can paralyze Horowitz' ability to further target and blacklist professors and be a major part of transforming campuses into centers of intellectual ferment, activism, and organized resistance that are so desperately needed at times like these.

Leonard Peltier is still inprisoned because he was framed by the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover.

Please, Take Immediate Action

http://www.aimovement.org/peltier/index.html

http://www.petitiononline.com/balpsg01/petition.html

To:  The Judiciary Committee, U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Congress

On November 20, 2003, a congressional report accused federal officials in Boston and Washington, DC, of inflicting “incalculable damage” on the public by protecting murderous government informants over the last 38 years.

The House Committee on Government Reform (HCGR) detailed misconduct by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and their supervisors (right up to former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover), in the 1965 murder of Edward “Teddy” Deegan. This is a case in which the FBI cultivated a Mafia hit man as a star informant and then government witness, and watched silently as he falsely accused four men of the murder.

Internal FBI documents show that FBI agents and their supervisors knew the identities of the real killers all along. Federal officials also took “affirmative steps” to make sure that the four innocent men convicted in the Deegan case “would not obtain post-conviction relief and that they would die in prison.” Two of the men DID die in prison.

There have been “no adverse consequences” for the law enforcement officials who permitted these atrocities to occur.

Is the Government Reform Committee really surprised by the outcome of their investigation? Are you, Congressmen?

For decades claims of official misconduct have been levied against the FBI by U.S. citizens, but Congress has turned a blind eye to such charges for the most part.

For nearly 30 years, for example, Congress – steeped in denial and fully believing the myth that has grown up around the FBI, i.e., that of premier law enforcement agency, protector of American rights, and defender of the U.S. Constitution – has failed to fully investigate the “Reign of Terror” on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota during the 1970s. It also has failed to investigate the now documented FBI misconduct in the case of American Indian activist Leonard Peltier.

I know the Deegan case isn’t an isolated incident. The case only provides additional proof of what many people – Leonard Peltier among them – already know from bitter experience. The FBI is plagued with a top-down malady characterized by thinking itself above the law, having no concern for justice, and desiring to squash all dissent. The U.S. Constitution is meaningless to an agency that now, as before, thinks the end justifies the means.

The HCGR said the Committee's report should spur a wider investigation. Yes, a wider investigation is indicated. Not just the misuse of informants but ALL FBI misconduct must be uncovered and the responsible parties held accountable.

I’m counting on you to seek out and expose the truth. Any official investigation of FBI misconduct MUST include the “Reign of Terror” on Pine Ridge and the Peltier case where the government has been shown to have: violated international law by using a false affidavit from an incompetent witness to obtain Leonard’s extradition from Canada; withheld critical evidence; fabricated other evidence; intimidated witnesses; hand-picked the trial judge; and prejudiced the jury against the American Indian Movement, in general, and Leonard Peltier, in particular. This was all to ensure that Leonard Peltier, an innocent man, would pay the collective price for the deaths of two FBI agents in 1975. It was and continues to be an act of vengeance only and a shameful perversion of our Constitution.

This is a simple matter of justice, Congressmen. I want it. I want it now. Conduct a full investigation into the FBI misconduct on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and the case of Leonard Peltier. Do it now.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Who I'd like to meet:

To stay up to date on the Iraqi Oil Law and other issues, be sure to check in regularly at www.priceofoil.org, and join the conversation.

Also, a quick thank you for making last week's appeal to support our work on the Iraqi oil law our most successful ever.  Iraqis are also continuing to protest this law.  We will continue to keep you updated on this timely and critical issue.

Today though, I want to highlight some of our other international work.

For people in poor countries around the world, breaking free from the chains of debt depends on breaking our addiction to oil.

For decades, wealthy countries have been subsidizing the operations of the international oil industry in some of the world's most impoverished countries.  While the corporations get richer, hundreds of millions of people are locked into a cycle of poverty and debt as oil prices soar and oil production devastates their lives and land.

Show your solidarity with the people of the world most affected by oil and debt by joining us this fall for the Cancel the Debt Fast!

Oil Change International is partnering with Jubilee USA to coordinate a worldwide fast to draw attention to the impacts of debt and oil on impoverished countries.  As part of the fast, we are sponsoring one day, September 28, as the Oil and Debt Day.  Sign up for the fast and use this day as an opportunity to talk to your neighbors, members of Congress and the media about the connection between oil and debt.

September 28 also coincides with the Bush Administration's conference of the world's biggest climate polluting nations.  This conference is a clear attempt to undermine the Kyoto Protocol.  Please help us respond to the Administration's disastrous path by taking action at this conference or any of the other events going on in DC throughout the next two months.

We hope you can fast with us or join us for one of the many events in DC this fall.  Every effort you make helps.

Peace,

Trina Zahller

Dear friend!

Thank you for the request!

As you know, we live in times of rising food and
commodity prices. It’s bad for us, as we learn in the
super market every day. It is even more perilious for
the world’s poorest and most vulnerable citizens, whichm is why I would like to ask you to sign following important and time-pressing petition to the EU:

VIGIL AND NONVIOLENT DIRECT ACTION TO CLOSE THE SCHOOL OF THE AMERICAS AND TO CHANGE OPPRESSIVE U.S. FOREIGN POLICY - NOVEMBER 16-18, 2007

On the weekend of November 16-18, thousands will gather at the gates of Fort Benning, Georgia. The weekend will include a massive rally, nonviolent direct action, trainings, workshops, benefit concerts, puppet shows, teach-ins, film screenings and more

The School of the Americas (renamed the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation SOA/WHINSEC) is not an aberration of U.S. foreign policy but a clear illustration of it. The racist system of violence and domination that is being promoted by institutions like the SOA/WHINSEC, employs military solutions as the one-size-fits-all "solution" for social problems throughout the world.
Fort Benning, Georgia, one of the biggest military bases in the world has become a focal point of the people power resistance to this system. In recent months, caravans from Veterans For Peace, Iraq Veterans Against the War and the Journey for Humanity and Accountability by Chindy Sheehan and Anne Wright took a stand for justice at the gates of Fort Benning.
In November, social movement leaders from Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, Colombia, the United States and other countries will converge on Fort Benning to speak out against empire and call for justice and peace.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
THURSDAY, November 15: Benefit Concert in Atlanta, Georgia; trainings and workshops in Columbus, Georgia
FRIDAY, November 16: Teach-Ins, workshops, films screenings and a benefit concert in Columbus, Georgia
SATURDAY, November 17: Massive rally with music, speakers and a puppet show at the gates of Fort Benning, Georgia, Teach-Ins, workshops, and films screenings at the Columbus Convention Center and in hotel meeting rooms in theevening; benefit concert at night.
SUNDAY, November 18: Veterans march to the gates, commemoration of the victims of SOA/WHINSEC violence at the gates of Fort Benning
