24-Carat is a new live jazz project which is produced by Japanese producer, Shouhei Matsushita a.k.a. M-SWIFT.
M-SWIFT is a soulful dance music project. As M-SWIFT, He released Many 12 inch records and two album CDs. His first album "Morning Light" released from Irma Records Italy in 2007 became a big hit in Japan. A lot of DJs like Danny crivit, Roger Sanchez put his songs on their playlist.
And He got an album deal from Ponycanon, one of the major label in Japan. He made his 2nd album in London with a lot of great guest musicians like Tony Momrelle, Eric Roberson, Joy Rose, Donna Gardier, Marcus Begg, Vanessa Haynes, Tony Remy. And Also he invite Nick Cohen as a co- producer. The album has a very good Reputation and also became a big hit in Japan. He played at Tokyo Crossover / Jazz Festival with Gilles Peterson, Dego, Syuya Okino, Jazztronik, Jazzamar etc..
This new project 24-Carat is his new project which is specialized to Live Jazz music not only for house listening but for dance floor. The pianist, Hideaki Hori released 3 leader albums. Also he played with a lots of big names like Eddie Henderson、Gene Jackson, Masahiko Osaka etc..On this project, there is a interesting chemistry between Hideaki's sense of traditional Jazz and Shouhei's sense of dance-music-oriented club Jazz. Also The drummer, Kazuhiro Oka has unique style. Nick Cohen played the bass guitar on the album as well.
On December 2008, 12 inch record of 24-Carat is released from Jazzmin Records. The label has been released a lot of jazz music like Sleep walker, nu tropic etc... And the album CD is released from Columbia Records Japan on Feburary 2009.
