Why do people risk arrest in their resistance to war? Perhaps Daniel Berrigan, on trial for resistance to the Vietnam War, said it best:

Though war resistance activities and arrests have not stopped the war in Iraq, those struggling for peace remain committed. "None of us know what will happen if we continue to work for peace and human rights," says a handmade poster of one involved in the resistance, "But we all know what will happen if we don't."

As for myself: I do my best to strive for solidarity with others, and redemption for my misdeeds. I believe that people should possess vision for the future, uniqueness of spirit, simplicity of organization, courage to stand up for conviction, integrity of self, moderation in acquisitions, frugality in desires, humility in behavior, patience in perseverance, self-reliance in demands, self-reflection to correct flaws, and unwavering curiosity and suspicion to find the truth. - - - As for ones virtues, I believe that you should display equality of judgment, honesty in conversation, loyalty to comrades, love for your friends and foes, fairness in proclamations, mercy in victory, forgiveness in betrayal, sincerity in action, sympathy for hardship, kindness in interaction, hospitality to strangers, generosity to the those with less, charity to those who need it, friendliness to those who don't deserve it, humor in all things, openness to new ideas, cooperation in overcoming obstacles, and an unforgiving fury at the sight or presence of injustice.
I am against oppression, injustice, racism, capitalism, corporatism, imperialism and anything else that fucks up people's lives.
I am sick of the apathetic state that has America by the balls. 50% of the world lives on two dollars or less a day. We are the only industrialized nation without national health care. Everyday we lose more rights. Torture is now legal. We are spied on. We are involved in an illegal war with Iraq and unfortunately we might be involved with an illegal war with Iran. Habeas Corpus has been suspended. The middle class is disappearing, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Our education system is a joke. This country is on the brink of an economic collapse. Corporations and private organizations such as the WTO, World Bank, IMF, Federal Reserve and other institutions have taken over this country and the world. Free trade is killing people and ruining people's lives, we need FAIR trade. We are carrying out nuclear warfare by using Depleted Uranium. Americans are in debt up to their ass. We police the world with our imperialistic warmongering tactics.
The Democrats and the Republicans are a one party system. There is no diversity. The government no longer represents its people. We are are becoming a fascist state. The government and corporations have intertwined to rule our lives. The American people have forgotten the wisdom and dreams of our four fathers. We have forgotten who we are and what we stand for. Instead of taking to the streets we buy products from corporations who close down American factories and ship them overseas for cheap labor in poor starving countries with American backed brutal dictatorships.
It is time to WAKE UP AMERICA. It is time to stand with each other in solidarity. It is time to fight for our rights and freedoms. For justice. For equality. For life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is time to say NO. It is time to FIGHT BACK. It is time to be Free. To free ourselves from the TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT. It is time to FREE THE WORLD.
