Mud Angels are honored to be the winners of three 2008 Madison Area Music Awards!Female Vocalist of the Year (Laura England), Blues Song of the Year (for You Sang My Note), and Blues Artist of the Year. Thanks to everyone who supported us!
The Mud Angels released their much anticipated debut album, a bolt from the blue in February 2008. Through two years performing the bluesy tunes of powerhouses like Susan Tedeschi, Sue Foley, Debbie Davies, Candye Kane and The Allman Brothers Band, the Mud Angels steadily added original songs to their set until an album shaped up. The record includes 12 original tunes with a variety of styles that’s unusually wide for a blues-based album and comes from having three writers in the band, Laura England, Kenny Cobb and Jackson. The record traverses many moods, from slow and sexy to urgent and rocking, and many topics, from sweet devotion and tasty summer fruit to soured love and bitter politics. The album’s vocal and guitar melodies, performed by front woman Laura "Torch" England and lead guitarist Kenny Cobb, span an equally impressive range in tone, emotion and intensity. Their debut album lands the Mud Angels solidly on blues-rock ground.
The Mud Angels include five musicians with notable and varied musical stories. Their tight rhythms come from the band’s core -- drummer Andy Mosey, bass guitarist Mike Burden and guitarist Jackson -- who have been playing together in various forums for more than 10 years. They recruited singer England to front the band in the spring of 2005 and lead guitarist Cobb in the fall of 2006 to complete their guitar-driven blues rock sound.
Mud Angels were also honored with 3 nominations for the 2007 Madison Area Music Awards!Female Vocalist of the Year, Blues Song of the Year (River Landing), Blues Artist of the Year.
When you take something for granted, you can quickly forget that it's even there. If you take it for granted long enough, it may in fact be gone the next time you look for it.
Why is gratitude so very powerful? Because it keeps you connected to all the good things in your life.
Don't let the immense value that's already yours wander away because of neglect. Take time to remember, take time to celebrate and be grateful, and take time to say thank you.
Instead of continually wishing for more, take a loving and thankful look at all that you already have. By sincerely appreciating what's already yours, you can build upon it to reach any dream you could possibly imagine.
Make it a habit to reflect each day on how truly fortunate you are. It is your awareness that enables your richest blessings to continue unfolding and expanding throughout your world.
See the beauty that's already there, and the value that's already yours. It is more than enough to propel you positively and meaningfully forward.
