***MudFaery Music***With a voice that has been called "mesmerizing, soulful, original, and unique", Amira sings and plays quite a range of styles of music. Vocals, Harp, and hand percussion has been the focus of her solo music. Her passion for World music and Jazz vocals is often felt in her music. Amira is slooooowly recording her first solo albums. One album will contain a diverse mix of songs with guest musicians playing with her. The other is an all harp album for relaxation. These albums will be out in late 2009. Until then, she can be found playing gigs around New Zealand alone and with friends.
The MudFaery Trio features Amira (Vocals, Harp, Percussion), Roger Sanders (Guitar, Percussion, Stories, Vocals) , and Manfred Raunigg (Flute, Didgjeridoo, Percussion). These three create a magically woven soundscape together. You can hear two live improvisational recordings from the MudFaery Trio Mussel Inn show.
MudFaery Soup!!! After a magical performance at The Mussel Inn in New Zealand, the group expanded to become MudFaery Soup! Add to that trio mix David Dwyer on percussion and an assorted collective of other musos and stir together to create "MudFaery Soup"! This is Amira's latest project. The summer gigs are being booked and MudFaery Soup is warming up weekly to feed the souls that come for soup!! Hoping for an EP this year!
Amira's other music projects have included Diddly Deux with Chris Puente. Diddly Deux has played live around America as well as a few gigs in New Zealand. So i just wanted to make you all aware that I've just recently released my New Debut Album "Native Planet," for FREE download at www.deliciousmusic.co.nz/invadertron
In this work I've attempted to explore sonic-scapes and habitats, using mental imagery and emotions to express places that can only be imagined. Trudging through dark valleys, windswept hillsides and gaping horizons. Past forgotten civilizations in the deep green,. Then to rest in a place of quiet solitude.
