A popular club band throughout the region, Mudflap King boasts incredible musical versatility. The different musical influences and backgrounds of its four members have created a unique style and wide-ranging song list. In just a few years, the band has played every notable club in the Mid-South and has gained a large, loyal following.
They pride themselves on their ability to please a diverse audience and pack dance floors night after night. Even their cover tunes have a unique Mudflap King flair that comes from each member adding his own spice to the recipe.
Co-founders Chip Eddleman (lead vocals) and Chip Doty (lead guitar), both from Memphis, came from totally different musical backgrounds. Eddleman's country roots earned him a recording deal in Nashville early in his music career, while Doty's early influences were rock and blues.
After a few years of growing response to the duo, they decided to add a rhythm section. Jimmy Bass (bass guitar) brings the thunder with his funk-influenced rock sound. He is complemented by Jason Persico's (drums) genuine funk and Latin style, formed from his years playing the Miami scene.
The group has a strong local following and a high energy, versatile show that consistently keeps the crowds coming back for more.
