Mel - Particularly interested in talking to characters who have lived through the late 70's like me (as a teenager) and seeing how their lives have transformed since, but at the same time keen on the burgeoning young music scene.
Love travelling and visiting historical places, combining photography, also really into live show photography.
I have travelled extensively around America from 1999 - 2003

Lorraine - Well I guess my interests vary not only in themselves but in how interested I am at any given time. I am usually found in one of four states, depressed, euphoric, premenstrual or drunk. Laying down is the usual assumed position for all of these. Without repeating my other myspace, I guess I am interested/attracted to all that glitters, be it beads, shells, sunlight on the ocean or gemstones.I am always drawn to those who see beyond this great big self constructed and perpetuated system of enslavement and control. There you have it!

Mel - It started with Bowie, Glitter, Alice Cooper at the age of 12 or so then moved onto Northern Soul, a more sophisticated me emerged to become a fan of Roxy & Bowie then the whole Punk scene of '77. The electronic age of the new romantics found me embroiled in Yello, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, ABC, Soft cell ect. I had a phase with rock music and dabbled with Rave & Indie. Now I enjoy a very wide variety of music, too numerous to mention! I am always open to new bands & new sounds, and enjoy visiting small show venues to see them in action.

Lorraine- Woah, so much. As I have said elsewhere, began with Elvis, Cockney Rebel,Be-Bop Deluxe, bit of Mud, Sweet etc to The Pistols, Clash, X-Ray Spex, Sham 69, Lurkers, most of the 77 and 78 punk and oi bands, then Theatre of Hate, the Meteors to Cabaret Voltaire, Pop will Eat itself, Fad Gadget. This list goes on.....The Waterboys, U2 , The verve, Muse....on and on Mozart, Wagner - Not keen on jazz nor classical singers .

Jean- AC/DC, The Adverts, Airbourne, ATV, Syd Barrett, Beastie Boys, Big Youth, Black Sabbath, Boris, Bubble Puppy, William Burroughs, Buzzcocks, Captain Beefheart, Johnny Cash, Cold Sun, John Cooper Clarke, The Clash, The Cravats, The Cramps, Culture, The Damned, The Darkness, The Dead Kennedys, Sandy Denny, Desperate Bicycles, Devo, Nick Drake, Dr Allimantado, Ian Dury & The Blockheads, Bob Dylan, Electric Light Orchestra, Roky Erickson, Fairport Convention, The Fall, The Flamin' Groovies, Flower Travellin' Band, Vic Goddard & Subway Sect, Golden Dawn, Hawkwind, Richard Hell, Jimi Hendrix, The Homosexuals, The Hold Steady, Hot Leg, Iron Maiden, Nic Jones, Robert Johnson, Joy Division, Led Zeppelin, The Lurkers, Machine Head, MC5, Metal Urbain, Modern Lovers, Monks, Motorhead, Mott The Hoople, The Move, Mystic Siva, New York Dolls, 101ers, The Only Ones, Augustus Pablo, Graham Parker, Pere Ubu, The Pink Floyd, Queen, Radio Birdman, The Ramones, Rocket From The Tombs, Rudi, The Ruts, The Saints, Sex Pistols, The Shapes, Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Slits, Patti Smith, Speed Glue & Shinki, Skip Spence, The Stranglers, The Stooges, Swell Maps, Suicide, Talking Heads, Television, Thirteenth Floor Elevators, Johnny Thunders, Trees, Wire, Wormsblood, The Yardbirds.

Mel - My favourites are thrillers, and Drama. I enjoy such music documentary style films as 'Control' about the life of Ian Curtis and also The movie 'The Future is Unwritten about Joe Strummer. Like Lorraine I hate chick flicks and not that keen on comedy either.

Lorraine - Here we go again, mainly action or science fiction. I love the Die Hards, Tarantino, Arnie and Sly, Quatermass to the Matrix, Badlands, The Triffids, Leon, ssssooo many as can be seen on the 'Lorraine' page just hate slapstick and chick flicks.

Jean -Looking forward to: The Damned Utd
  • Televizyon

Mel - Shameless,Peter Kay whether it be Paddy & Max or Phoenix Nights - superb Northern humour, Jonathan Ross show chat show, The Lion Man is fabulous (love big cats and little cats)But to be honest you will most likely find me sat at the computer than watching TV.

Lorraine - I now don't watch TV at all. The only things I miss are League of Gentlemen and Shameless.

    Jean - Red Riding
  • Kitaplar

Mel - Of course 'MUDKISS INTERVIEWS 2008' also Books about the original punk movement.Sebastian Horsley'Dandy in the Underworld'-'Berlin Bromley' by Bertie Marshall,'Redemption song'The definite biography of Joe Strummer by Chris Salewicz,'Rebel Heart'by Bebe Buell & Victor Bockris,I'm with the band by Pamela Des Barres, Punk an Oral guide by John Robb, 'Liverpool Erics' by Jaki Florek & aul Whelan - and lot's more

Lorraine - I am way too lazy when it comes to reading. I do love Dickens and Hans Andersen fairytales.

Jean - 'Lipstick Traces' - Greil Marcus
  • Kahramanlar

Mel - I don't really like the terminology 'hero's' but one person I admire and fascinates me is Marilyn Monroe I've been a fan since I was 16. Marilyn,Debbie Harry & Madonna have always been role models to me. The three icons of style. Also anyone who survived the Holocaust is a hero to me!

Lorraine-The idea of heroes feels an outdated concept to me. I do admire pioneering characters who stand firm against the tide, from William Wallace to Florence Nightingale to John Lydon. I like those whose sparkle remains when they have gone.

Jean - Jimmy Page, John Bonham, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, John Peel & Justin 'Dave' Hawkins - My favourite quote:"Quotations are useful in periods of ignorance or obscurantist beliefs." Guy Debord

VISIT OUR WEBSITE(to read our interviews, book and gig reviews)
WE WANT TO CREATE STORIES OF INTEREST AND GIVE THOSE UNSUNG HEROES A VOICE.OUR THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT IN OUR NEW ADVENTURES.

In a male dominated 'industry'/clique scene,it's a breath of fresh air that mudKISS blows through the permanently ajar door that is PUNK ROCK: salut, up and atom.(Jean Encoule from'TrakMARX')
........ Mel and Lorraine were rebellious teenagers in the early Punk days 77 - 79 this led onto the 'new romantic' movement in the 80's. They both have a love of music in their veins and indeed still have that rebellious streak.
Mel aka Soulkiss gained a degree in Fashion Design in the 80's then knocked out 20 plus years of social work experience and is currently (not)writing her memoirs about her punk experiences and beyond, as Mudkiss has taken over. She appears on the Blitz Kids web site, and in a new book called 'Tattoo Soup', John Robb's new book and 'Liverpool Erics'- phew what a year it's been.A computer whizz kid, creating her memoir based web site 'soulkiss'last year, and in the past year 'mudkiss' web site.
Check out her photography here http://www.flickr.com/photos/vivamel/collections/

Lorraine is certainly not a computer whizz kid, but does have a degree in Fine Art and paints erotic art, glass, leather jackets, backdrops, logos and much more guitar experiment next! On top of this talent she has started tattooing again after 20 years. Watch this space! Lorraine has also trained in conservation skills and is halfway to another degree in social science, but life seems to have taken over!
