BibitMagnus	Jul 18 2007 7:16 PM This is what our music friends are doing in Appalachia-making the world aware that the mountain tops are being blown apart by miners, and fighting to preserve the natural habitat and wildlife in our Country---but through music and jamborees...I met these folks last month while in Tennessee at Bonnarroo Music Festival w/ violinguitarmaker.com (Peter Huiras)... Please consider moving mountains with music and love, and not explosives...hey and if you want to go down,I will go....I will tune up my jug and washboard! Barbara Friends of the Appalachian Mountains, This weekend's Mountain Justice Summer meeting/mountain music concert on the mountain is looking great - we'd love to have you join us for the weekend in eastern Kentucky to help stop mountaintop removal - and have fun! Good news - in addition to mountain banjo artist Lee Sexton and our own Mountain Justice Summer band "Heres to the Long Haul," we now have booked folksingers Michael and Carrie Kline, from Elkins, West Va to play at the "Mountain Music on the Mountain" concert this Saturday night, July 21 at our campground near Whitesburg, Kentucky. If you are a musician, please come and bring your instruments - we will have an open mike and jam session late into the night. This past weekend we went up to Pine Mountain to check out Wileys Last Resort, our meeting place and campground for this weekend - everything looks great and we are ready for an awesome weekend. We hiked up to the top of Pine Mountain - High Rocks at Bad Branch State on Sunday and the view from the top was absolutely stunning. Its a great hike but fairly strenuous - it took about 5 hours round trip. Our dog Tiffy found a rattlesnake in the woods ... Bad Branch Falls at the bottom of the mountain is a shorter trip and also very beautiful, one the nicest spots in the whole state I think.
