Their music is a combination of great musicianship and thoughtfull melodic songwriting with more hooks than a fishermans tackle box!
Mugshot incorporate a great free flow sensibility to their shows with an unmissable energy and musicianship. With all of this and the uncanny ability to pen tight, catchy tunes mugshot are most definitely on the cusp of something grand!
Look out for the beautifull "My Left Foot", the groove saturated pop master piece "Oh Carol" (recently featured in SL Magazine's April 2009 issue) and the effervescent pop single "Days that Melt Away" for evidence that Mugshot are no slouches for great tunes.
The recently wrapped up the recording of their debut album, “Sixes & Sevens” (released in January 2009) with JP De Stefano (Sugardrive, Wonderboom, aKing, Fokofpolisiekar).
First single “Days that Melt Away” was released in late March 2009 and is slowly penetrating National and Regional radio. The track recently reached Top 5 on UJFM and the Top 20 on the UJFM International Top 40 (after entering nearly 6 weeks ago). The track is currently playlisted on Matie FM and Bay FM with follow up single "Oh Carol" finding playlisting in July 2009 on UJFM and Matie FM.
Having just signed an exclusive deal with MTN Exploded and distribution through The Orchard Mugshot are set for big, big things indeed!
With no end in sight, Mugshot have been busy back in the studio again readying themselves with a brand new collection of 5 songs set for release in late October 2009!
