It exists because it can rather than to offer people something that they might be looking for. Something that cant be described with words but perhaps only summed up. Passion. Escape. Purpose. Depth. That’s what Kurt Cobain put back into rock music in 1991 at a time when it craved it so much. Although there are so many bands coming out without songs that touch you and inspire you, Kurts influence lives on. There are bands out there that try to offer that. So many bands get exposure and radio play because it’s paid for. Bands that don’t seem to know what a hook is and what lyrics can be and its sad. I believe though that once you scratch the surface there is no going back. That’s why Kurt should be remembered. It’s a shame that all this is still the music INDUSTRY.
