"Chris' Music somehow makes The listener want to invent energetic dances on the spot and hoot like a five year old full of red cordial, or an eighty-five year old full of sherry..."
- Andy Giles, Berlin/Sydney.

Chris is now in Bologna writing new material and playing gigs. He has been touring Italy, Germany and France over 2009.
His roots however, are firmly planted a couple hours south west of Sydney where he grew up. Here in the 80s and 90s the culture lent children many liberties including a lot of opportunities to get together with mates, make a racket and just maybe some music. As a youngster Chris was a keen drummer and percussionist. Then there was always his brother’s guitar somewhere around the house too and he picked this up, writing songs as he went, as he thought this was the only way to learn the instrument.
Teenage lust, love and first experiences drove him to endless lengths to write numerous songs and inturn form loads of bands and play heaps of gigs. So many in fact, that the pimple faced, skinny and long haired geek started popping up on bills alongside Frenzal Rhomb, Polyanna, Midget and many other early Australian indie demi-gods. Unbeknowns to them, he would stand wide-eyed from backstage listening, watching and studying every note that they made.
Years later he has sound experience performing many a gig around Sydney, Melbourne, Wollongong and now Bologna, Paris, Berlin and Stuttgart. Chris’ songs have grown-up alongside him too and matured next to his sense of curiosity for new experiences and for putting himself in others' shoes.
Chris' songs have received radio airplay in Sydney, Bologna and a number of regional areas across Australia.
He is in a constant state of producing material and writing songs. As a songwriter, Chris is a collector. He collects ideas, stories and experiences onto different mediums such as paper (by way of poetry/prose and creative stories), Pro-Tools, Dictaphones or simple memorised melodies. He collects these things, just the right pieces of material, sculpting away at some of it until it talks and tells a tale.
You never really know which elements of Chris Muir's music evolved from events in the real world or from within himself.
He might be writing lyrics in an allnight kebab stall in Bologna, perfecting chordchanges in a basement on a farm in Umbria or plugging some lyrics and music together in Istanbul...Wherever he is, he's on the eternal quest to find his own Carmen Sandiego.
Produced and mixed by Tim Whitten and mastered by Don Bartley, the first two commercial releases were made available on iTunes, Amazon and eMusic in Feb 2009.
His musical escapades continue...after the end of a string of summer gigs around Europe, he recorded a demo of brand new songs in a count's Umbrian villa...

E adesso in Italiano:
