The past and the present come together in MULA’s music; the result is a musical kaleidoscope of forms and arrangements that are familiar and yet different. MULA’s repertoire includes original songs written in Spanish and English that bring attention to issues of different kinds: from mere entertainment, humor and daily experiences to social, cultural, and political awareness. It is a good bet to say that MULA will keep your body moving and your mind rolling.

MULA began as a student organization at the University of California, Riverside in 2003. Now, MULA has consolidated as a band but the mission remains the same: to promote and express our culture through music. With that goal, MULA creates a fusion of different music styles including ska, cumbia, sones, merengue, rock, mambo, reggae, Arabic rhythms, among others; each style holding some deep historical and cultural meaning. With its music MULA pays tribute to the richness of the culture of Latin America and of other parts of the World.
