Muldoon's Picnic is a small harmony singing group based in the lovely green city of Glasgow. The exact lineup varies but there are usually five or six of us. Our repertoire is highly eclectic and ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous: everything from folk-songs to world music to shanties to spirituals to Victorian parlour music, mostly in our own arrangements. We have been known to sing in Bulgarian, Croatian, Georgian, French, Welsh, Cornish, Manx, Breton, Scots Gaelic, Luganda and Sotho, not to mention dodgy American and Canadian accents. We are available for weddings, conferences, private parties, festivals, theatrical performances, James Joyce appreciation jamborees and what have you. We also offer workshops in Sacred Harp (shapenote) singing, world music and general a cappella harmony.
Our album GINGHAM DOWN (a "whistle-stop Cook's Tour of acappella musics", "sure-footed and healthily alfresco") came out on our own label in 2008 and is available on CDBaby.com or directly from the band by mail order via the website. Individual tracks can be heard in full at Last.fm and purchased from iTunes and suchlike download sites.
It's a place for bands to explain how they book shows. Comes along with news on web technologies, recording gizmos as well as music industry trends and anecdotes.
