About me:
Mule Freedom is the splendid empire of Gerry Ranson. Conceived as a club night at the late and very lamented Weavers Arms in Newington Green, North London, it has gone on to encompass journalism, DJing, live music promotion, folk song collection, artist management (Babycorn, Goldwing, Florida, Onions), album cover design, a website and a record label (Stovepony). He specialises in critique, advice, dogma, lecturing, ranting, fawning, droning, backslapping, gladhanding and derision in the field of folk, country, rock, folk rock, country rock, pub rock, psych rock, prog rock, Southern rock, blues rock, garage rock, arena rock, prog folk, psych folk, acid folk, arena folk, acid rock, garage folk, gypsy folk, gypsy punk, trad folk, trad rock, trad punk, and last but by no means least, NWOBHM. He has written for Country Music International, Troubadour, Artrocker, Bucketull of Brains and can currently be found holding forth in the pages of Rock'n'Reel magazine.

Great to see you on Saturday! I hope married life's all you expected! By the way, do you have a list of tunes on the CD? I only recognised the Jacques Tati music (but don't know what it's called) - and, not that it matters in the slightest, but one of our cds was blank! Maybe I've scored a spare recordable cd!
See you both soon, I hope - maybe next time you're up in Scotland?
All the best, Jim & Rae

This month we have Regina Spektor with the theme to the film Prince Caspian (but don’t let that put you off, it is really rather wonderful), Mermaid Skeletons with a great song that’s worth it for the chorus alone, the Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, who are as good as their name if not more so and finally the legendary Chip Taylor with the thought-provoking Former American Soldier.
Great listening, and if you like the tracks, buy the albums!

The wonderful team at Stone Island Records have now listed our debut album 'LoveTel Motel' on their excellent website www. stoneislandrecords. com under the category heading of Classic Rock. You can now order your very own copy of this long awaited and much discussed LP recording by Magic Ship from Stone Island Records by clicking the image above. We hope that you enjoy listening to this album as much as we enjoyed making it. And don't forget that we mixed it so that you will be able to get the most out of it through either earphones or speakers, just so long as you remember to play it loud! Dancing is unavoidable. Grab a copy before it's too late.
