About me: My name is Robert Joseph Butler, I'm a 26/m from Waterford/Clarkston Mi. , I enjoy writing, watching, discussing and directing/producing films, socializing with friends, watching sports, among many other things.
My goal is to be a feature film director one day. I have a lot of ideas and I want to utilize them on film. Down below are my three short films, the first one is titled "End Of Tangle" and its a cross between David Lynch, Ingmar Bergman, and Maya Deren. My second film "Heart of Mercy" was influenced by Clair Denis film "The Intruder", My third film which is now on my main page is titled "Portrait of a Marriage" which was the headline film at the June Michigan Mitt Movie Project.
My first thesis film "Broken Fidelity" won the 2008 Best Director Award at the MPI Film Festival at Novi on September 28th, 2008. My second thesis film "Journey Into Silence", was also screened there and was nominated for Cinemtagraphy, Art Direction, and Best Actor.
I'm working on now, one titled Dark Heart, based upon the famous Edgar Allan Poe short The Tell Tale Heart.
