About me: Mumbo Jumbo hopes to provide you with quality live music with a different feel and a different look. Look for a Mumbo Jumbo event coming up soon!
"It says booking in your address. Are you a booking agency?"
No, not really. Feel free to let me know if you want to play, though - I will happily add you to my shortlist.
"What's the deal with the Newspaper?"
The Mumbo Jumbo Newspaper will provide you with entertainment, editorials, cartoons and news and updates about your favorite artists. PLEASE - feel free to send in any contributions (ediorial, music news, CD or product review, cartoon, fake news, whatever) Read it or don't - it's your trip.
"Do you have a stable of artists? Do I have to sign up?"
No and no.
"Then what's the point?"
A show is not a handful of slots to be filled randomly by whomever asks first. A show is a show, Goddamnit! Each show should be an event of it's own. The acstetic, the music and the venue itself are all part of a larger element. No one performer is the focus of the evening. If there are three artists on the bill, they are part of the larger element, the show. Just because one set is over doesn't mean the show is over. Maybe you don't recognize all the artists in the bill - this is all the more reason to come! I personally gaurentee the quality of all the artists I book. What's my word worth? Find out!
An effective show is a composite of different elements. Of course, the music has to be good. There should be food/drink and the venue should be 'cooler than the other side of the pillow'. Meet and greet and chat and chew - there's a lot going on so I hope you can follow me. The most important thing ANY show has is vibe. The music, the people, the venue, the food, the lights, the goofy garbage on the wall. All of these things are simply elements that can create or alter an existing vibe. The major focus of Mumbo Jumbo is to bring the vibe. The rest is up to you.
"With all this live music around, why should I choose a Mumbo Jumbo show?"
The answer is simple: You don't have to - but I want you to ;-)
