About me:

Cosplay (jap. コスプレ kosupure) bezeichnet einen Verkleidungstrend, der im Laufe der Neunziger Jahre des 20. Jahrhunderts mit dem Manga- und Anime-Boom aus Japan in die USA und nach Europa kam. Der Begriff Cosplay ist die japanische Abkürzung des englischen Begriffs costume play (frei übersetzt „Kostümspiel“). Beim Cosplay stellt der Teilnehmer eine Figur durch Kostüm und Verhalten möglichst originalgetreu dar. Der Charakter kann dabei aus einem Manga, einem Anime, einem Videospiel oder einem Spielfilm stammen. Der Fantasie und Kreativität sind dabei keine Grenzen gesetzt, sodass die Kostüme der meist zwischen 15 und 25 Jahre alten Darsteller häufig von hoher Qualität sind.[aus de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosplay]
