In addition to the MURNAU THE VAMPIRE project, OM Animation Studio will put together a compiled Album with musical themes specially created for the short.
These musical themes will be created by Bands from different parts of the world that will contribute with their talents to the MURNAU concept.

SYNOPSIS
Count Murnau, a wealthy eccentric from the Carpathian region
wishes to buy a property in Hannover Germany, the real state agency
sends Mr. Dohart, his best sales representative to close the deal,
but Dohart never gets back. The real state agency sends the young and
newlywed Hutter to take care of this matter, and he parts alone to
Transilvanya leaving his wife Ellen waiting for his return.
When he gets to the castle, Hutter begins to uncover the terrible
secret of the Count, Murnau is a vampire!
And a eerie connection begins to surface between the Count,
Dohart and his wife Ellen.
The Count Murnau retains Hutter against his will inside his castle,
as he begins the journey to his newly acquired property in Hannover,
close to Ellen.
Hutter escapes the dangers from the castle as he begins a deadly race
to stop Murnau.
Hutter arrives only to discover the count settled in his new property
as he tries to seduce Ellen who suddenly fails to a strange disease.
Hutter contacts Dr.Shvert an old master of the dark sciences,
could this two stop the journey of the Count in time?

MURNAU is the first mexican animated short film realized on DVD format, released to the internet.
Based on the Elephants Dream's model, developed by Blender Found, MURNAU aims to get directly to the viewers, bypassing the difficult distribution channels for animated short films.
Some of the objectives of the MURNAU project, are the exploration of different graphical tendencies to the traditional 3D actual market, better content and quality for low budget productions and the creative freedom of the small studios.
Since the beginning, MURNAU has count with the support from different elements, from co-producers willing to invest in the project, to collaborations in different areas as realization, soundtrack, web support and promotion.
The basic plan of this project is to develop an animated short film, from March 1st 2007 to August 1st 2007. In this period (5 months) the website will be showing frequent updates of the development of this film, news and other materials and support. Besides a pre-order and a donations sections. All the content of this site will be released under the Creative Commons Attribution license, so this material could be distributed for everyone.
All the people that pre-order the DVD in this period (March 1st 2007 to August 1st 2007) will have a special credit in the film and a preferential price.
You can donate trough Paypal and choose the amount of your secure donation.This help would be really appreciated and this also will have special credits in the final cut.
The official release date will be September 14 2007, and the DVD will contain all the material generated trough the production. Besides the short film, All the material will be under some of the Creative Commons Attribution licenses.
