BLOOM is the meeting of DJ/techno producer Olivier Mutschler and Daniel Brothier, electrofunk and jazz saxophonist, composer and arranger for the cinema and theater. Click here for Tracklisting
Olivier Mutschler was born in Cannes, France in 1981, and started to learn guitar and music at an early age. Influenced by his father’s musical culture, melting jazz with rock, soul or classical music, he organized rave parties in Rhône-Alpes with friends and different collectives
when he was 15, and played techno, house or electro records in clubs, underground parties and other
places. In 2001, he started hosting his radio show on Loire FM with Hip Hop DJ Drop, and the same
year joined Eric C. aka Trakmob, owner of the Snug record Shop in St Etienne, for his weekly show
on Radio Dio for 3 years. He worked in 2006, 2007 and 2008 with the Italian dance company “Teatri
Del Vento”, melting contemporary and electronic minimalist music.
He
worked as a remixer for US house heads Alton Miller and Kai Alcé, and released his own EP’s with
Orlando Voorn, Chez Damier, Etiku Dancer, Lee Holman and more on labels like Nightvision Rec, Etiku World or NDATL. He has also remixed the
classic "Game One" by Juan Atkins, released on Orlando Voorn’s label, with also Steve Rachmad, Los
Hermanos, Roberto Bosco, Pacou, Rennie Foster, Quantec, Ritzi Lee... His tracks have been charted and played by guys like Steve Bug, Sascha Dive, Laurent Garnier, Santiago Salazar, Ricardo Villalobos, Ben Sims, Cassy, Ryan Elliott, Dubbyman and more...
He still plays today in
different places in France and Germany, spinning trip hop, jazz, soul, house, or more Detroit
dancefloor techno on 3 decks and laptop, and regularly plays with jazz saxophonist Daniel Brothier
as Bloom, and in other electro jazz projects. He is also involved in teaching electronic music making
in music schools and libraries.

Some comments: Carsten Rausch: The Da Trash Remix is a cool piece of percussive Techno. I will definetely play that. Dave James: Yeh I like the original trippy vocals. Galuszka: Tantrum Light offers a track that is straight up techno. The mood of the original mix is very Terminator 2 (Judgment Day) in its vocal work and sound choice. The remixes of this project ad funk, especially the Da Trash remix with it's rolling quality. Bodgan Taran: I just love the melody on Zimaleto remix of LSD Island. The Reddman: I listened all the remixes and was very impressed! I have to say I just loved the Paul Hunter remix of the LSD Island track. There was something about it that just kept the groove going for me. Moog Conspiracy (Elektrotribe / Buena Onda): I ll play Tantrum light - Da Trash remix. Marc Fuccio (Fresh DJS): Favoutite mix is Paul Hunter remix. Wicked groove of a bass line that instantly got me to my feet. Great production and construction.
