MUSHROOM BRUIZE was born in the summer of 1999 when vocalist APS and bassist Greg Turner decided to form a band that captured the energy, sound, and over the top show that was lacking in their native city of Omaha, Nebraska. Both club and road veterans from their early teens, the two friends wanted to form the band that they have always longed to be a part of, yet couldn’t seem to find in the smaller communities of Nebraska. Tired of the club bands that ruled the club scene, APS and Greg soon found guitarist Roger Fletcher and Drummer Rican – kindred spirits, who also shared a passion for mayhem, loud rock n roll, and songs that were fun to fight or f*ck to.
After a year of strict rehearsals, songwriting, and organizing enough advance marketing to generate a well-deserved street buzz in the Midwest, the BRUIZE recorded their first cd “Fistful of Misfits”. Upon it’s release, the BRUIZE financed a year tour that took them through middle America states Colorado (real clean), Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota and Missouri, to name a few. Along the way, MUSHROOM BRUIZE shared stages with the likes of Rob Halford , Pretty Boy Floyd, Ratt , Jackyl, Faster Pussycat, Creed, Quiet Riot, Dokken, and Naked Beggars (Eric Brittingham & Jeff LaBar of Cinderella), the Florida natives Genitortures, and a newly re-formed L.A. Guns. During this time, the band released their second album aptly titled “Clubbed to Death”.
After three years and $65,000 in debt, MUSHROOM BRUIZE took a two-year sabbatical to write the third BRUIZE album (“Motherf*cker) and pursue outside musical interests. In 2004, the band reunited for a three year stint of club dates that stayed primarily in the midwestern states. In 2006, the band was invited to play rally week at the annual Sturgis bike rally. Upon their return, the BRUIZE have been writing what will become their fourth independent release, slated for early 2009.
A loud, loose, swaggering, on the edge (and sometimes off), rock and roll show is everything MUSHROOM BRUIZE has to offer, and delivers night after night. If you’re looking for all the energy of a sweaty, decadent roadshow……..
MUSHROOM BRUIZE is a band that is hard to miss.
