Hailing from Austin, TX, about:blank began as a quartet playing regular First Thursday festival gigs on Austin’s simmering South Congress strip, often appearing in-store at hipster doodad shop Monkey See, Monkey Do. Of course, this was way back in 2005, before the departure of percussionist Nate Barrett, whose decision to return to his roots in the Knoxville music scene was both difficult and devastating. Always resourceful and productive in music and in life, however, about:blank rallied to recruit full-kit drummer Dave Adams and alto saxophonist Kevin Gibbs (of Navin’s Thermos, Free Brass Cartel, and Melody Mann fame). With trumpeter Paul Luedke (Navin’s Thermos, Free Brass Cartel) blowing his sweet yet spunky lines over the already solid yet inventive rhythmic foundation provided by resident bass master Kyle Clayton (Last Free Exit, Free Brass Cartel) and guitar man Danny Anderson (Audioflava), the new sound of about:blank was bursting to arrive. And indeed it has: The band’s new incarnation already has Austin audiences bouncing on their toes (if not their heads) with its powerful brand of psycho-funky-jazz. Coming soon to your town and the rest of the world, about:blank’s soulfully psychedelic groove will put the tickle in your dancing boots—before you can count four.

A big thanks to all my friends... I just went over 10,000 listens on my player. I've added a fifth tune to my player, an arrangement of Scott Henderson's "Harpoon", the leader and guitar player of Tribal Tech.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to visit your site lately. I've been away at the US Army First Sergeant Course. But I'm back now, and can't wait to get busy hearing all the great music and reading about everything you've been creating.
