This children's video by Melita works for me too! When I'm sad I watch it and it makes me happy. It's the sweetest video I've ever seen! Melita is in my Top Friends, and the source of the video is at www.melitamusic.com

BooksNone lately, but when I do read it's usually really dry material, to-do with cosmology and spirituality/metaphysics (but not the really far-out stuff).
HeroesOh Boy! That's such a loaded one! Heroes in what venue? In terms of the things that really matter, I'd have to say anyone promoting peace and harmony, even Princess Diana because she opposed land mines. I'll get back to this...

About me:
MUSIC AND SPIRIT

CHECK OUT MY PLAYLIST-- SEE BELOW.

ABOUT THE MUSIC PLAYER TO YOUR LEFT: You can play ANY SONG in my "Song History". To get to the song history screen, click on the second box in the lower right area of the music player. From there, you can start any song in the list, interrupt and start any other song, etc. THIS SCREEN IS WHAT I AM CALLING THE "PLAYLIST." Before you go there, you must first PAUSE my "current profile selection" (click on the circle with the two vertical lines in it) or else you will have two songs playing at the same time! The third box in the lower right area takes you directly to the artist's profile.

I ALSO HAVE PLAYLISTS AT (click-->) IndieFolkSpirit AND AT CelticWonderland

THESE ARE THE BEST PLAYLISTS IN THE WORLD! SEND A FRIEND REQUEST AND YOU WILL RECEIVE AUTOMATIC UPDATES WHENEVER I ADD TO MY PLAYLISTS!

PLEASE NOTE: THIS PLACE IS NOT JUST FOR MUSICIANS. Send a friend request and you will see my bulletins, which I send out whenever I find a fascinating new artist.

MUSIC is a manifestation of BEAUTY. Beauty, in order to BE, must be EXPERIENCED in a BEHOLDER. A beholder is a locus of CONSCIOUSNESS. Consciousness is the most mysterious thing that exists in the universe, apart from the universe itself; it is the part of the universe looking back at itself; it is a little part of the Great Spirit that the Great Spirit has temporarily separated from His/Her/Itself in order to behold His/Her/Itself! Hence, the beauty inherent in music, (when it is beautiful) is a DIRECT CONDUIT to the Great Spirit!

But these are just words, so I advocate that you listen to the music right away, and go to the blog later, if you are so inclined. The artists in my friend space (and I do not necessarily wish to emphasize exclusively those in my Top Friends, as appreciation is really quite a subjective matter) are all makers-of-music that is beautiful in the sense I have outlined above, and SO deserving of success. (Many of them are already quite successful.)

And to the extent that you relate to words, that is what this blog is here for. Browse at will. Click on "View All Blog Entries"-- there are several long screens worth of interesting material. Use the scroll bar at the right of the blog and the "Blog Archive" controls to go to subsequent screens backwards in time. (The Blog Archive controls are near the TOP of each screen, not at the bottom where they should be.) Click on "Older".

I have found that music people, in general, are not as interested in contributing to this blog as I had expected. (And I SO APPRECIATE those of you who have!) I have also found that maintaining it in my previous mode (finding the good music and writing reviews of it in the blog) is a big chore! So the new mode of this blog is as follows: If you make music that comes from this place and is NON-DOGMATIC, send me a message labelled "OK to blog" and a friend-request. You will probably get blogged! You may also send bloggable messages containing your philosophical and/or metaphysical thoughts, whether or not you are specifically a musician, as long as the material at least touches on the spirit-connection in music.

REGARDING COMMENTS: Songwriters please note-- from now on, I am relegating lyrics to BLOG ENTRIES, not to comments. This is to keep my profile page from getting so long that the scroll bar operates with hair-trigger sensitivity, as I've seen on some profiles out there. Send lyrics in a MESSAGE, and if you wish to send a comment, state IN THE COMMENT that you have sent lyrics for me to blog. THANK YOU!

ATTENTION ALL CELTIC MUSIC LOVERS: Some of my favorite Celtic and other instrumental artists are here, but I am encouraging them to also migrate to my spinoff page, CelticWonderland This means that page will eventually be my main Celtic "portal."
Who I'd like to meet:
Smart people, especially into interesting music. I favor certain types of jazz-folk and Neo-Celtic but also like indie folk-pop and other genres if the material is good. And of course since my blog is about music and spirit, my vocal-music interests nearly always slant toward the spiritually oriented. My favorite people are also, to one degree or another, spiritually oriented. However, I am a non-dogmatist; I consider a good love song to be "spiritual".

Hello Van
Just a little Peek a Boo from Paris.
Yesterday, I made progress with my voice. My teacher said I've got my mixed voice but I don't know it... yet :.) Each lesson is contructive.
Currently, I'm looking for a dancing teacher as well. I would like to take training courses in july. Artistic is all my Life
Hope you're fine
Have a good day

Hi Van,

Thanks for reaching out on myspace and for holding the space for the sacred...the Spirit of what we call music to be opened, explored, shared, mused about and in general held with appreciation.

Here's to the magic of Spirit speaking through all of us in our unique voices...the voice of the ONE.

Blessings and smiles,
Gentle Thunder
Tashka

Nice idea.
Thanks for finding me in this giganic mixing bowl ;-)

My name is Tashka. I wrote this song "I AM" in March this year... when my world came crashing down and I again intensely analysed myself. Picked myself apart and put myself back together.
Realized it's ok not to be perfect all the time. That Everything I am & go thru is just part of this big 'being human' thing we're all sharing.

I AM

I am Human. I am Real.
I'm destructive - I can Feel.
I Create something - I can Take.
I am Blind - I can Break.
I can See things - I can Find.
I can Come to or Lose my Mind.
I am Perfect - I am Now.
I am Here - I am How.
I Give Out something - I Reveal.
I Break Down - I Conceal.
I can Fly - I can Fall.
I am Nothing - I am All...

You Are my Mirror - You Are Me
I Find Myself in What I See
I Carve Myself in What I Do
I AM YOU / I AM YOU / YOU ARE ME / ARE WE FREE
¿

I am Human.
I am Nothing - I am All.

Nov 14 2007 7:25 AM

Thank you for getting in touch, it's an honour!

This is a song about karma/sin, emotional baggage and the road to liberation, from my album 'Long Way Out':

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Face History
James Hollingsworth © 02/07/2001
Everywhere you've been and Everyone you've known,
Is written all over your face.
And everything you do and Everything you say,
Is there for the reading of Fate.
And, yes you can read what you please,
In the faces you see and only,
Read the words you understand.
So take a leap of faith and just...
Read with the Heart in Mind, or Read between the lines,
Of worry we create, of worry we relate,
When we see but are still blind,
And so... misunderstand,
So lower your guard and trust,
To Read with the Heart in Mind
Or Read between the lines,
Of everywhere you've been and everyone you've known,
It's written all over your face,
It's written all over your face,
It's written all over your face,
It's written all over your face.
Peace and love
Great idea! Thanks for inviting me and my muse to your dream. Here's an excerpt from a song of mine:
Some are looking in the words of the Rasta
- and its there
Some are looking in the ways of Wicca
- and its there
Some looking in Zen or Christianity
All I can tell you is I find it inside of me:
Quiet joy you've never led me wrong
Quiet joy help me help you sing your song
Quiet joy if there's one thing that I know
I am in my power when I feel that quiet joy
