Music at St Barnabas is a vibrant community and live performance project working in support of the charity "The House", a state-of-the-art move-on centre for the homeless.
Every Thursday evening Music at St Barnabas hosts beautiful concerts at the Charity's exquisite chapel in the heart of Soho.
The Chapel is a jewel of a venue. The quality and variety of music at 'Music at St Barnabas' is remarkable.
St. Barnabas Chapel is just off Soho Square in Manette Street, right next to the Borderline venue between Greek Street and Charring Cross road. It's a charming building with extraordinary acoustics. Perfect for an intimate evening with wine and good music.
The Chapel is part of the charity the The House , previously known as "The House of St Barnabas" and "the Women's Institute for the Homeless", and for the last 160 years it has provided a haven for rest and rehabilitation for women and homeless people. The Chapel is the heart of the charity and continues to offer itself as a space for those in times of trouble to be alone in a healing environment. People of all faiths and those without any religious affiliation find welcome, understanding and room to unwind.
The money raised from the musical evenings is donated to the The House and to the 'Music at St. Barnabas Foundation', an ongoing project set up to bring a wide range of acts into one place every Thursday evening, and to encourage the public to soak up and cherish the beauty of such a wonderful building. Music at St Barnabas is committed to supporting The House by raising money, public awareness and local support, to help the charity achieve its aims, particularly during this time of change. Please refer to the charity website for more information. www.atthehouse.org.uk,
During a Music at St Barnabas season, the candle-lit concerts take place every Thursday in the Chapel. The only music we're interested in is all kinds of music and everybody is welcome.
