Mac Skinner’s uncanny and natural talent for creating ambiance and eliciting emotions through music began at an early age. Playing the piano, clarinet and tenor sax, these instruments served as tools to help him in the broader scheme of story telling. At the age of 18, he discovered the vast world of electronic music. Making a move to the bay area for a music degree at Sonoma State, Mac brought his musical tastes to the electronic dance community. While completing his general education in school, Mac took up the hobby of mixing records and DJing in every spare moment he possibly could. It wasn’t too long before Mac Skinner became infamous and rapidly sought after at popular clubs like Elevate and Purifide as well as large music events. After receiving a degree in Music, with a recording arts emphasis from Sonoma State University, Mac’s passion for music led him to a management position at K&M Analog designs which builds amplifiers, designed by Bill Krinard and Joe Mloganolski, for artists such as Steve Kimock, John Mayer, Mark Karan Matt Scholfield, Mitch Stein and Henry Kaiser. His musical ear and passion for “the perfect” soundtrack in life led him to the next natural step of his career as a Music Composer/Producer/Director. Mac has several film/TV projects that he is currently involved with and works closely with Jon LaCroix, the owner of VC Diamond Catalog which offers a music licensing solution to professionals in film, television, advertising and gaming industries. Designed with the combined input of directors, producers, editors and music supervisors, the VC Diamond Catalog features tracks from the world’s best producers in an online delivery that’s fast and convenient. Mac Skinner divides his time between Los Angeles and the bay area working with Film/TV projects, various artists and continuing his solo career as an electronic music artist and recording no more than a half-dozen projects a year.
