Lets see....so I first heard music as a kid, when my dad would listen to his records on the 'big' stereo. James Taylor, Carly Simon, Gordon Lightfoot, and Jackson Browne all sang me to sleep at night when I was young. I do believe the first song I heard my dad play on guitar was "Sweet Baby James".
So that's where my love of acoustic music started...right at home.
I have been making music all my life, but really started making good music in college, haha. I got much more into the emo/rock side of things in college, when I moved from playing piano to playing guitar. My roomate in college taught me the basics, and the sounds went on from there! We used to play "the game"...where we would each make up a guitar riff or chord, one after the other after the other, until we made a whole song. It got pretty ridiculous, because each of us would try to out-do the other with our chords. We made many songs that neither of us can play...but they sounded great!
Eventually that collaboration led me to be part of a band called Favorite....and that is where I have met many of you. It was a great time and I am honored to have been part of that very talented group of musicians.
I am now excited to announce the release of my very first solo EP, the Dirty Wings EP.
Its full of warm acoustic sounds and tales of heartache and hope. Please check it out and let me know what you think! I will be touring most of this year to bring its sounds to as many people as I can.....hopefully I will see you out there on the road.
