In a culture of predictability and contrived emotion, honesty is the currency by which art is valued. Paper Mache has built its reputation on lyrical substance and continues to build a national fan base through extensive touring and inventive promotion. This Washington-based five-piece creates a continually evolving sound that embraces the acoustic sparsity of acts like Bright Eyes as well as the rich textures of bands like Death Cab for Cutie and Brand New.
Paper Mache is currently touring in support of their full-length album "Easier to Lose," a collection of songs that challenge the definition of struggle, success, life, and loss. The album shows a promising maturity and flirts with a polished sound most indie bands fear. A yet to be named new record, is in the works for 2009 with the band's longtime producer/non-touring 6th member, Joe Varela. Stay tuned to hear sample tracks from the record online in the upcoming months.
