Movies
Almost impossible to choose. Akira Kurosawa's High and Low, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Amelie, A Room with a View, and The Thin Man are absolute favorites. After that, I have difficulty in narrowing it down. The Beat That My Heart Skipped, The Edukators, Children of Men, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Control. I love Asian cinema, British period films, and old classics the most, I suppose. My tastes are wide and varied. Art house cinema, documentaries, big epics, romantic comedies. If they have a good story, well-written script, convincing performances, and striking camerawork, then they are most likely in my 5 star category. Love my Netflix and can always talk about film.
Recently Watched: A zillion films at Silverdocs (see The Cove!), Up, Star Trek, Wolverine, Adventureland, etc.
Television
Pushing Daisies, Primeval, Friday Night Lights, Deadwood, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, The Office, Reaper, Damages, House, Life, Burn Notice, The Wire, Masterpiece Theatre, Mystery!, Frontline, Twin Peaks, Firefly, Veronica Mars.
Books
My favorite genre is Victorian mysteries. Mysteries in general. I also love good historical dramas such as books by Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Wilkie Collins. Absolutely love Charles Dickens. Poetry.

About me: I don't like to talk about myself. But I suppose I try to live my life with a degree of kindness, honesty, humor, commitment and discovery. Passion for things I care about. Anger at injustice (a proud liberal). Easily delighted. Pretty laid back and low key. Generally in pleasant spirits most of the time. I like to laugh. I watch a lot of films. And I go to a lot of shows (rock, mostly, but I like classical, jazz, and "other", too). Shows in DC. Shows in NYC. Shows in the UK. *concert traveler* If I love the band or just want to check out someone new, I'm there.
Oh.
And I love to watch breakdancing.
