The band was formed in 2001 at Rovaniemi. After a few jamming sessions between Pauli Turpeenniemi and Sami Lakso, it was obvious in what direction the music was going to. All they needed was a female singer... a good one :) . Pauli didn´t have to search for very long, because the first female that he heard was Suvi-Tuuli Dietrich and so she was the one. Suvi-Tuuli was intrested in the project right away . The first demo recordings took place in Rovaniemi but the quality didn´t please the band. At that time the band was still in child shoes and there were no bigger plans for the future. Still after months of waiting the band decided to book a studio time at the legendary TicoTico studio. A demo that included two songs was recorded. This time the sounds were good and also a new band member Tatu Romppainen(Lead Guitars) joined the band . Then the band was called N.E.O.
Still Pauli wanted more - he thought that a keyboard player was a must and also they didn´t have a bass player, but he couldn't find proper musician´s from Rovaniemi. Sami knew two brothers named Kalle Ruumensaari(keys) & Ville Ruumensaari(Bass) from Oulu and after a few talks they were intrested. A new studio time was booked at TicoTico-studios and three songs In Chains, Live 4 Today and Escape was chosen to the next demo. Also the band name was in need of a change - and so it became Escape.
New material is beeing made all the time - and ofcourse now the shoes are a bit bigger and growing all the time :)
