Music H.Q. (Hull) Ltd. is a social enterprise company based in Hull, East Yorkshire, UK.Our main aims are to help local musicians, performers, promoters, venues and anyone else who wants a career in the 'music industry' make the best of what they have and hopefully succeed in their chosen career.
One of the main things Music HQ has become involved with and was obvious that musicians & venues wanted was promoting gigs and running music based events.
At the moment Music HQ organise regular nights at The Lair, Sharkeys, The Ringside and The Hallgate Tavern as well as being involved with the Cottingham Springboard Festival, Beverley Folk Festival and the East Riding Rock Festival. With all this going on things can get a bit busy for us so do not be upset if it takes a while to get back to you after messaging/emailing us.
We also work with new and established promoters and venues to put on one off gigs and generally do loads of networking putting band/venues/promoters in contact to great success. Music HQ has also dabbled in band management but has backed away from that temporarily because of lack of time & resources but hope to become more involved in this side of the music business again at some point in the future.
With so many gigs happening Music HQ have been building up our PA system and resources and now have availabe for hire (with sound engineers) several different sized rigs from a few hundred watts to 5k+ for reasonable cost and engineered to make you sound good.
By now you must be thinking what sort of musical genre is Music H.Q. aimed at? Well it isn't, any style of music from any cultural and economical background is what we want to hear and be involved with, non descrimination is a big thing for us and hopefully this will show itself in our wide range of customers/friends/partners/people who use our services or comes to our gigs.
Plans for the future
We are looking at getting back into band management as several bands have asked us to, also we are working very closely with The Ringside on their web based marketing and are putting more gigs on down there. We are constantly updating our available PA rigs and our latest one got a great run out at The Springboard Festival and we now have a team of four sound engineers with diverse experience which means our gigs are sounding better and better. Music HQ now has a small lighting rig of our own and are looking at expanding that side of things as well. At some point in the future we hope to expand the booking agency side of our business to include cover bands as well as original acts as from our personal experiences most agencies are pretty rubbish and I am sure Music HQ can do a lot better for acts and the venues that want to book them.
