Music Is Math started life as an online collaboration between Chris, Scott and Damian, three close friends with a mutual affinity towards making music.
The partnership's first studio sessions resulted in the track "Airborne", an ambient retro-electronic soundscape, drawing on influences of Test Cards and Spangles.
As more tracks were completed, the emphasis shifted towards a "live band" feeling, rather than a mere studio project.
This aim was achieved with the addition of lead vocalist Damien, which in turn gave the band's sound a harder edge than the previous instrumentals, while still maintaining the electronic sensibilities which Music Is Math strive to bring to the music they create.
