    Our Founder:
    Dustin Lee, the Manager of Oakcrest , founded music is My Weapon Of Choice in Jan 2009. Inspired by his younger brother, Trevor, who was diagnosed with autism, Dustin developed the Music is my Weapon of Choice Organization.

    "I see the pain that my brother goes through everyday from getting picked on, to having to deal with stress and peer-pressure. I also see the tears that no one else sees as well. I know my brother wants to learn music so bad, and learn how to play the guitar. However, no one seems to have the patience to teach him and let him learn. It’s time for that change." – Dustin Lee

    With this said, the name "Music Is My Weapon Of Choice" was born. The idea spread and inspires all who encounter it, and our organization continues to grow every day.

Our Mission: Music is my Weapon of Choice promotes positive change and offers a safe haven for youth through music. Our mission is to put instruments into their hands, turn their thoughts into lyrics, and teach them how to use music as their greatest weapon.

About Music Is My Weapon Of Choice:
The goal of Music is my weapon of choice is to establish a venue in Fayetteville N.C. that will cater to our children and teens, as well as provide low-cost services to local musicians. We will promote positive change in our community through music and be a contributor to keeping the Fayetteville music scene alive and thriving! We truly believe that music can change the world. To raise funds for our cause, we are hosting a variety of events throughout Fayetteville. Please see our upcoming event calendar!

Our Goal: Opening the doors to our own establishment in Fayetteville is our goal. Our venue will provide a safe haven to our kids and teens, and promote positive development and mentorship. Through learning music and by giving kids and teenagers an opportunity to pick up an instrument, we will provide inspiration and purpose, and become deterrent to gangs, drugs, and violence. We will work to cater to all individuals, regardless of race, religion, gender, status, or disability. We will attempt to provide our services to people from all walks of life and meet their specific needs. Our youth can understand that picking up an instrument and using lyrics to express their thoughts is both the greatest high, and greatest weapon they possess. We will promote a life offering an alternative to violence, alcohol and drug abuse by providing both mentorship and friendship through music. Our venue will connect teachers, community members, adults, local bands and musicians, venues, all supporters of music, and youth in way that will have a lasting and life-changing impact.

Additionally, our venue will seek support for our local music buy offering low-cost services to local bands and artists seeking what they need to expand their music. A stage, practice studios, and a recording studio are several examples. We will cater to all genres and styles, and work together to promote our Fayetteville local music.

In order to raise funds our cause and establish our venue, we are hosting live shows and events in a variety of venues throughout Fayetteville. Please see our calendar for upcoming events! Proceeds from our events support the Music is my Weapon of Choice organization, with 15% of profits donated to a different youth-affiliated charity for every event. We feel by doing good for others is our vision, and we attempt to spread this vision in every aspect of our organization.

We are asking for your help!

Music is my Weapon of Choice is seeking a building within the Fayetteville city limits to set up our music center. Our location will cater to our youth and local music scene. See our blog: Our Vision...for more information. Help up get our building granted to us from the City of Fayetteville by signing our petition!
