| About Musick Fest |
Musickfest was the Brainchild of the friends of Mrs. Wendy Musick. Wendy lives in Athens, GA and has worked in the music industry for nearly 10 years. Not only does she engineer sound at the 40 Watt, she is also a marvelous guitar player, lending her talents to Athens' own Southern Bitch and The Everlovin' Bands. During an appendectomy earlier this year, a scan showed a medium sized tumor located in the pancreas. The pancreas is a small organ located in the upperVabdomen, and connected to the small intestine. It is essential to the human body in two ways: 1) it produces enzymes that help in digestion and 2) creates endocrine cells that produce insulin which regulates the use and storage of glucose or sugar. Pancreatic cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Early detection and removal of pancreatic tumors is vital to the positive prognosis of this deadly disease. Wendy's tumor has not been defined as cancerous nor benign, despite bioptic testing; therefore, doctors have opted for full removal of the growth. These procedures are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, and Wendy, like most musicians, does not have health insurance. THE GOAL OF MUSICKFEST IS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE MUSICK FAMILY AND HEIGHTEN AWARENESS OF THE ONGOING PROBLEMS IN OUR NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.

Musick Fest Benefit has been a huge success! Through donations, rock memorabilia auction items, miscellaneous auction items, and concert attendance we've been able to collect a good deal of money that will make a substantial dent in Wendy's medical bills. Thank you again for supporting Wendy in her time of need. Her surgery went well and the biopsy came back benign! She has a long road ahead of her but is expected to be rocking again by the Holidays!

Pick up a DVD
A Southern Bitch: Live from the 40 Watt DVD-R will be sold at the shows for a donation of $8. This is a four-angle, fan-made dvd from the 2004 CD release party of Southern Bitch's second album Snake in the Grass. The DVD-R will include packaging so please be sure to get one while they last!
Southern Shelter has a preview of the DVD up, as well as some live audio from featured performers for MusickFest.
