Influences
Those who pushed me toward my dream, those who ignored me..People I laughed with, cried with, and lived with. Those who loved me, and those who broke my heart.
Lisa Webb was only seventeen when she made the bold move from Decatur, Illinois to Music City. She persuaded her parents to let her finish her high school education by home schooling so she could get a head start on her career. When asked why she didn’t want to graduate with her peers and go off to college, Lisa says, “I’ve always known that this is what I was supposed to do. In high school, while everyone was hanging out with friends, I was at home writing songs or on stage. I figured, if I’m really sure about this, why should I wait?”
Moving to Nashville wasn’t a decision Lisa had to make alone. Lisa’s parents have always been incredibly supportive of her music career. “When I was twelve years old my mom used to bring me to Nashville just so I could sing karaoke at Lonnie’s in Printer’s Alley. Even though my entire crowd was drunk and I was singing in a smoky bar, at the end of the night I was singing for people and that was all that mattered.” Singing for people in smoky bars soon led to performing at numerous fairs & festivals, and ultimately opening for Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Lonestar, Chris Cagle, Sawyer Brown, Darryl Worley, and Marty Stuart.
Now twenty, Lisa Webb continues to follow her passion for music. She has written a catalog of songs with incredible versatility. Lisa can often be seen performing in the round with other talented Nashville songwriters, and performing live with her newly formed band, 24 West.
