What originally started out as a quest back in 1981. Frank AKA ANGRYFRANK promoted his first show which was TRUE SOUNDS OF LIBERTY along with SOCIAL DISTORTION in Orange County in SANTA ANA..Along the way started doing shows with THE MISFITS, BAD BRAINS, PUBLIC IMAGE LIMITED, MOTORHEAD. In 1983 Frank join forces with the original GOLDENVOICE...Along the way did the infamous punk shows at OLYMPIC AUDITORIUM in Downtown LOS ANGELES, A lot of Gothic shows at the ALEXANDRIA HOTEL with the SISTERS OF MERCY, SPECIMEN, SEX GANG CHILDREN, also shows at the HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM, SANTA MONICA CIVIC, and SIR STUDIOS. In 1983 Frank help Mr. Goldenvoice GARY TOVAR usher a new in house theatre in PASADENA, CALIFORNIA called PERKINS PALACE. This lasted until 1984 which the City of PASADENA close down due to the 1984 OLYMPIC games in LOS ANGELES..In 1984 due to insanity plus dealing lots of pot AngryFrank walked away from the music business.
In the late 1988 in SANTA ANA promoted shows with bands like FISHBONE, PABLO MOSES, THE MEDITATIONS which was a challenged but was a brief fling at promoting music.
In 1990 Frank decided to completely not promote any music while he focus on running a Electronics Business in Los Angeles County.
But again the music bug caught his ass. This time taking over a music studio in Los Angeles. Again the music bug caught Frank again. This time working with a lot of Punk, Indie and Spanish rock in the late 1998.
This time working with friends like Marco Aldaco from ONE AMERICA PRODUCTIONS. This time Marco was instrumental in introducing lots of folks to the current Spanish rock bands. Mutual friends with TIJUANA NO! Marco also worked for CAFE TACUBA, JULIETTA VENEGAS, ENRIQUE BUNBURY,MOLOTOV, ELY GUERRA and others. During this time in the early 2000 Marco promoted lots of bands. Marco thru JOHN PANTLE who took the SPANISH ROCK by the balls gave MARCO the opportunity to work with SKA Legends MADNESS back in 2005.
In 2004 ANGRYFRANK again decided to promote shows locally in the San Gabriel Valley... Starting at the Elk Lodge evolved The MUSIC LODGE.
The idea behind the MUSIC LODGE is to promotes the welfare and enhance the happiness of those attending shows. To cultivate good fellowship and the perpetuate an environment were those attending can enjoy live music in a great place.
In 2006 AngryFrank decided to work with JOE BLACK of 51 BUCKINGHAM in Pomona. JOE has been doing shows in Pomona for years.
Like all partnerships in promoting is a lot of work for the love of music. Which to be honest is fine but at the same time partnerships do work great for a time. JOE BLACK is focusing on 51 Buckingham. Check out CHARACTERS in Pomona..
Now a new Chapter has begun in..You will see the MUSIC-LODGE bringing different shows to different places..The shows in POMONA will be a few if any. Looks like SANTA ANA in ORANGE COUNTY along with the SAN GABRIEL VALLEY and LOS ANGELES will be the new focus!!
In the past AngryFrank was the first promoter to work with BAD BRAINS first Los Angeles show. DRI first Los Angeles show. THE METEORS first Los Angeles show. NICK CAVE and THE BAD SEEDS first Los Angeles show.SISTERS OF MERCY first Los Angeles Show in a DOWNTOWN LA HOTEL. THE CULT first show in Los Angeles at Perkins Palace in Pasadena.
