PRESS RELEASE 25/07/2008 For Immediate Release

MUSIC MANIA CHANGES OWNERSHIP & DIRECTION!

Following Richard Wynne’s recent life changing circumstances, the decision to sell local music icon Music Mania was a surprise shock to all. Music Mania was established at it’s current Southport location in 1994 (the very same premesis as the old Grapevine for those of you old enough to remember). Richard Wynne purchased Music Mania almost 6 years ago in December 2002 and through many many late nights and endless toil has seen the business grow from strength to strength. Settlement is scheduled to occur on August 1st at which time Music Mania will be temporarily closing for a few days while renovations begin and will be reopening under the new ownership of Jo Spence.

Disasterpiece will be taking over and improving everything that Music Mania already currently does including event ticketing, imports, cd/dvd/vinyl sales, merchandise, collectables, etc with the addition of a massive new boutique alternative clothing store!

Not included in the sale are the printing, badge manufacturing & graphic design departments which Richard has already reinvented as new business ‘RW Promotion’ details of which can be found at www.myspace.com/rwpromotion & www.rwpromotion.com

A personal message from Richard Wynne : “Having completely transformed the shop over the last 6 years investing countless hours/funds and literally poured my blood, sweat & tears into the business it was a tough decision, but it was time for a change and as they say ‘that’s life’ so I’ve just got to move forward. I’ll still be around the Coast and look forward to a little time off to catch up with mates and spending quality time with the lady of my life (my gorgeous 4 year old daughter Chanel)! I wish Jo and her lovely family all the best with the business and look forward to seeing the upcoming transformation! So there it is, my stage set has been completely customized  at Corrosive Recordings work shop over the past 3 months. Right now I am day in day out practicing to perfection a killer performance for JO_MAN_REINCARNATED. There are a few extra surprises for the show that I am stoked about and I am sured you peeps will go wild!

The Lowdown are set to bring the house
down at The Joynt once again Friday September 4. This a free entry
event and judging from the last couple of shows TLD have done there
you best arrive early and in the mood to groove. Music will kick off
at 9 with Nicole Mcintyre doing a mellow set of acoustic tunes to
ease you into the night. The Lowdown will take the stage around 10
and will be playing an extended set encompassing some new material,
freestyles and improvised jams.

Don't miss this as it will be a night
to bne remembered.
