Mariana is a native from Argentina, professional bassist, children's music composer and educator graduated from Berklee College of Music.
Since an early age, Mariana studied recorder, Orff music classes and choir at the Collegium Musicum of Buenos Aires. Thanks to her Great Grandfather Julio De Caro -a famous Tango composer who gave her one of his most precious pianos- Mariana started her first piano lessons at the age of 8.
After many years of playing Beatles, Bach sonatas and her own compositions at house concerts and music schools, she was deeply driven by the sounds of rock music and decided to try the electric bass.
Mariana got a cheap Washburn bass, started to take lessons and joined the fusion band Horus in 1998. While going to College for Science of Education, she realized her deepest passion laid in becoming a full time musician. That is when Mariana enrolls at the ITMC (technological institute for contemporary music) and joins rock band Kro-Magnon with whom she tours Argentina in 2000. After 3 years, Mariana gets her degree in bass performance (2001) and decides to go on a new adventure: Berklee College of Music.
While her years at Berklee, Mariana was honored with as a BAS (best achievement scholarship) and played and recorded with several projects (The Wings Project, Pojazz, Hammarsing, Arielle Silver, Nomi Zysblat) around the East Coast: Berklee Performance Center, Paradise Lounge, Toad, TT the Bears, Cantab Lounge, Lily Pad, Middle East, Bullfinch Yatch Club, Lowell Summer Music Series, Radio Bean, Harpers Ferry, Hynes Convention Center, Midway Cafe, Milkyway, Spontaneous Celebrations, Virgin Megastore, C-note, Apocalypse Lounge, Lizard Lounge, Johnny D's, Lancaster Dispensing Company, Club 218 and Chthonic Clash Coffeehouse.
She studied with Anthony Vitti, John Repucci, Fernando Huergo and Oscar Stagnaro, among others. Mariana received her Bachelors Degree in professional music (education & performance) in 2005.
Mariana currently lives in Boston where she regularly performs/teaches at the Children's Museum, the Chelsea Public Library, the Everett Public Library, Baby Wiggle, Lily Pad and the Children's Music Center of Jamaica Plain.
Mariana also plays bass for the Dave Alpert Band and Florencia Gonzalez Big Band.
Mariana’s debut album “Aventura Collage” was released in February 2009 and was recently honored with a Golden NAPPA Award.

“Mariana Iranzi's first album for kids is an amazing amalgamation of influences that translates beautifully into the playful, lively Aventura Collage.”
“Inventive and entertaining, Aventura Collage is a welcome addition to the kids' music world.”
-Warren Truitt, Kids’ Music that Rocks
“An enjoyable listening journey with a lovely voice and great music.”
-Deborah Young, A to Z Kids’ Stuff
“Fifteen folksy, mostly songs in Spanish that lose nothing in the non-translation. Fun sing-alongs for little ones.” -John Wood, Kidzmusic.com
“That the lyrics are mostly in Spanish is merely incidental. Iranzi's eclectic celebration of all things musical-reggae, jazz, even electronica-is a party, not a language lesson.”
-Christopher Healey, Cookie Magazine
“To label Mariana Irani’s foray into kids’ music as simply a Spanish educational album would not only undermine the brilliance of Aventura Collage, but also the talent of this accomplished musician and composer.”
“…Aventura Collage is a disc that needs to be in your children’s music collection.”
-Dave Loftin, Chattanooga Parent Magazine
“This disc is a joy for all ages. Unless you speak Spanish, you won't even realize it's a children's album.”
-Phil Corless, A Family Runs Through It
“…el disco tiene impronta de fiesta, es muy fácil de disfrutar y corre el riesgo de repetirlo una y otra vez. Cd indispensable para cualquier niño y adulto con buen oído." -Christian Hinojosa, El Mundo Newspaper
