All recordings of my music have been entirely created and self-produced in my humble homemade studio.
My Journey:
Two years after leaving home and being separated from my childhood piano, the emptiness that slowly grew within me lead to the realization that music is everything to me.
Having gone too long without my lifelong passion and spiritual outlet, I was suddenly uplifted by a new musical presence in my life. I had picked up an old beat up guitar and was instantly reborn.
I immediately began writing music on a daily basis, and once I was finally reunited with a piano, it was only natural that I began building a small home studio so that I could play both instruments (and more) in all of my songs.
While working on my craft over the years, I've been performing at various open mics, festivals and private gigs year round. Currently I've been playing more original music than ever before, and sharing a twist of refreshing honesty and openness in my new music.
Often, I recognize the need to play to the crowd's mood, so my musical style on stage depends on the mood. When the crowd calls for it, I'm known to play hippie music from Pink Floyd, Cat Stevens and Neil Young, happy ol' oldies from the Everly Brothers, or moody music from the Smashing Pumpkins, the Cranberries and Jewel - playing these artists are my favourite, because this usually prepares the crowd for the original music I have to share next.
My original music is often dark or melancholy, but honest and generally 'pretty' if not angry or passionate. I live for the moments when the audience is in that groove to receive introspective, communicative, honest music. The more I find those audiences, the deeper my drive becomes to seek them.
Today, along with my guitar, I use my homemade mixes as accompaniment on stage. These mixes are the sum of my craft. Every instrument and melody line is an integral piece of my spirit. In my heart, I can't separate the guitar from the piano, from the strings and flutes and beats, so on stage, I simply choose not to. In the future, I see a whole orchestra with me, but there is a quite an amazing journey to be had before then. In the meantime, I am content to share my synthesized pieces and feel the calming affects of honoring the haunting entities that compel me to create them.
Thanks so much for listening, I look forward to playing for you in the years to come.
Hey Chicken! Thanks for the super fun night on Thursday. Ridley and band were fantastic... Let's get together for a jam soon. I've been practicing a bit for your Cat Call.
Try re-arranging your attitude towards jello. Think happy Jello thoughts :.) and then, maybe, instead of drowning in Jello, you will dream about something like falling from the sky towards a certain death only to be saved by a huge pool of Jello that gives you a soft landing, and then you bounce from the Jello onto a hammock, and contiue happily along with your snoozing. And from there you may move onto the happiest dream of all! Being a featured guest on Melodies in Mind! My oh my!
