The Association of Music Podcasting (AMP) is a group of podcast producers who play independent, podsafe music. 'Podsafe' means the music is protected by a Creative Commons copyright. The author keeps ownership of the intellectual property (i.e. the song) while allowing others limited use of that property (i.e. podcasters) In turn, we promote independent music and recommend cool songs to our listeners and direct them to sites where they can learn more about the artist, listen to more songs and maybe buy a song or two from their website.
Making a song available to podcasters is a great way to get your music heard by hundreds of music lovers. Simply pick the Creative Commons (CC) license that best suits your needs. You keep control of your intellectual property while granting podcasters limited use for free. You get exposure and podcasters get content for their programs. They will drive traffic to your website or the online store of your choice.
